Abstract

Banyak faktor yang menyumbang pada kemampuan manusia untuk mempelajari keterampilan gerak. Ketika anak bertumbuh dan berkembang, penampilannya juga bertambah seperti motor ability. Motor ability akan mempengaruhi kemampuan setiap individu. Ketika keterampilan gerak berbeda maka berbeda pula kemampuan individu dalam menguasai keterampilan olahraga salah satunya keterampilan bola basket. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan antara motor ability terhadap kemampuan bermain bola basket pada siswa kelas VII yang mengikuti ekstrakurikuler bola basket di SMP Negeri 1 Cikarang Utara. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif korelasional, dengan populasi yaitu seluruh siswa ekstrakurikuler bola basket kelas VII yang berjumlah 22 orang, dengan teknik pengambilan sample menggunakan total sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Barrow Motor Ability Test dan Johnson Basketball Ability Test. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan dan analisis data yang diperoleh, maka hasil penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara motor ability dengan kemampuan bermain bola basket pada siswa ekstrakurikuler bola basket di SMP Negeri 1 Cikarang Utara dengan hasil p-value 0,016 dan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,509 yang meunjukkan bahwa hubungan antara motor ability dengan basketball ability termasuk kategori sedang. Motor ability will affect the ability of each individual. When the movement skills are different, the individual's ability to master sports skills is different, one of which is basketball ability. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between motor ability and basketball ability in class VII students who participate in extracurricular basketball at SMP Negeri 1 Cikarang Utara. This research uses a correlational descriptive research method, with a population of all 22 extracurricular basketball students in class VII, with a sampling technique using total sampling. The research instruments used are Barrow Motor Ability Test and Johnson Basketball Ability Test. Based on the results of the processing and analysis of the data obtained, the results of this study are that there is a significant relationship between motor ability and the ability to play basketball in extracurricular basketball students at SMP Negeri 1 Cikarang Utara with a p-value result 0,016 and correlation coefficient of 0.509 which shows that the relationship between motor ability and basketball ability is in the medium category.
