Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis performa jaringan Labschool Rawamangun dalam mendukung implementasi perangkat IoT yang berfokus pada sistem keamanan, serta menentukan desain jaringan yang paling optimal untuk diterapkan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan quasi-eksperimental melalui pengukuran jaringan nyata menggunakan Wireshark dan simulasi jaringan menggunakan Cisco Packet Tracer versi 8.2.2. Penelitian ini menguji tiga skenario jaringan, yaitu jaringan baseline tanpa IoT, integrasi IoT pada VLAN existing, dan integrasi IoT pada VLAN khusus. Analisis performa jaringan dilakukan berdasarkan parameter Quality of Service (QoS) meliputi throughput, delay, jitter, dan packet loss yang mengacu pada standar ETSI TIPHON dan ITU-T Y.1541. Hasil pengukuran jaringan nyata menunjukkan bahwa jaringan Labschool Rawamangun berada dalam kategori cukup baik untuk mendukung beban IoT ringan hingga menengah. Hasil simulasi menunjukkan bahwa integrasi IoT tanpa segmentasi khusus menyebabkan penurunan performa jaringan, sedangkan penerapan VLAN khusus memberikan performa yang lebih stabil dengan nilai delay dan jitter yang lebih rendah. Meskipun terdapat perbedaan nilai absolut antara hasil simulasi dan jaringan nyata, pola performa yang dihasilkan menunjukkan kecenderungan yang konsisten. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan VLAN khusus merupakan pendekatan paling optimal dan realistis untuk mendukung implementasi perangkat IoT di jaringan Labschool Rawamangun. ***** The implementation of Internet of Things (IoT) in educational environments requires network readiness to maintain service quality despite increasing traffic loads. This study aims to analyze the performance of the Labschool Rawamangun network in supporting the implementation of security-oriented IoT devices and to determine the most optimal network design for deployment. This research employs a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental approach through real network measurements using Wireshark and network simulations using Cisco Packet Tracer version 8.2.2. Three network scenarios were evaluated: a baseline network without IoT, IoT integration within the existing VLAN, and IoT integration using a dedicated VLAN. Network performance was assessed based on Quality of Service (QoS) parameters, including throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss, referring to ETSI TIPHON and ITU-T Y.1541 standards. The results of real network measurements indicate that the Labschool Rawamangun network is in a reasonably good condition to support light to moderate IoT workloads. Simulation results show that integrating IoT devices into the existing VLAN leads to performance degradation, while the implementation of a dedicated IoT VLAN provides more stable performance with lower delay and jitter values. Although differences in absolute values exist between simulation results and real network measurements, the observed performance patterns remain consistent. Therefore, this study concludes that the implementation of a dedicated VLAN is the most optimal and realistic approach for supporting IoT deployment within the Labschool Rawamangun network.
