Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bentuk peran orang tua dalam mendukung mahasiswa berprestasi fakultas ilmu sosial dan hukum tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif, dan teknik, pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah orang tua dan mahasiswa berprestasi yang terpilih sebagai kategori juara terbaik dan terinspirasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk peran orang tua dalam mendukung mahasiswa berprestasi di fakultas ilmu sosial dan hukum tahun 2024 adalah bentuk-bentuk peran orang tua terwujud dalam enam bentuk utama yang saling terhubung diantaranya adalah mendampingi, menjalin komunikasi, memberikan kesempatan, mengawasi, mendorong atau memberikan motivasi, dan mengarahkan. Adapun peran-peran yang dilakukan oleh orangtua tersebut dijankan dengan empat jenis dukungan diantaranya adalah dukungan instrumental, dukungan emosional, dukungan akademik, dukungan penilaian. Kemudian dari dukungan menimbulkan fungsi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan dasar anak, yaitu kebutuhan fisik, kebutuhan sosial, kebutuhan psikis. ***** This study aims to determine the forms of parental roles in supporting high achieving students in the Faculty of Social and Law Science in 2024. This study uses a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach, and data collection techniques through observation, interviews, documentation, and literature review. The subject in this study are parents and high-achieving students who were selected as the best and most inspiring winners. The result of the study indicate that forms of parental roles in supporting high-achieving students in the Faculty of Social and Law Sciences in 2024 are realized in six main interconnected forms, namely: accompany, establishing communication, providng opportunities, supervising, encouraging or providing motivation, and guiding. The roles played by parents are carried out through four types of support, namely: instrumental support, emotional support, academic support, and appraisal support. This support then fulfills the basic needs of children, namely: physical needs, social needs, and psychological needs.
