Abstract
Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis merupakan kompetensi esensial abad ke-21 yang belum berkembang optimal pada siswa SMP di Indonesia. Kondisi ini dipengaruhi oleh praktik pembelajaran matematika yang masih dominan prosedural serta kurang mengaitkan konsep dengan konteks kehidupan nyata siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh model Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) berbasis budaya Betawi terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa, serta menelaah peran disposisi matematis sebagai variabel moderator. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen semu posttest-only control group dan rancangan treatment by level 2×2. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada semester ganjil tahun pelajaran 2025/2026 di dua sekolah menengah pertama negeri, yaitu SMP Negeri 144 Jakarta dan SMP Negeri 234 Jakarta, yang berada di Kecamatan Cakung, Jakarta Timur. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 96 siswa kelas VIII yang terbagi ke dalam kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Instrumen penelitian meliputi tes uraian kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan angket disposisi matematis. Data dianalisis menggunakan ANAVA dua jalur serta uji lanjut independent sample t-test pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang belajar melalui CTL berbasis budaya Betawi lebih tinggi dibandingkan pembelajaran ekspositori, (2) terdapat interaksi signifikan antara model pembelajaran dan disposisi matematis, (3) pada siswa dengan disposisi matematis tinggi, CTL berbasis budaya Betawi memberikan dampak yang lebih kuat, sedangkan (4) pada siswa dengan disposisi matematis rendah, perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah tidak signifikan. This condition is influenced by mathematics learning practices that remain predominantly procedural and insufficiently connected to students’ real-life contexts. This study aims to examine the effect of a Betawi culture–based Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model on students’ mathematical problem-solving ability and to investigate the role of mathematical disposition as a moderating variable. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental posttest-only control group design with a 2×2 treatment-by-level arrangement. The study was conducted during the odd semester of the 2025/2026 academic year at two public junior high schools, SMP Negeri 144 Jakarta and SMP Negeri 234 Jakarta, located in Cakung District, East Jakarta. The research sample consisted of 96 eighth-grade students divided into an experimental group and a control group. The research instruments included an essay test of mathematical problem-solving ability and a mathematical disposition questionnaire. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA followed by independent samples t-tests at a significance level of 0.05. The results indicate that (1) students taught using the Betawi culture–based CTL model demonstrated higher mathematical problem-solving ability than those taught through expository instruction; (2) there was a significant interaction between the learning model and mathematical disposition; (3) among students with high mathematical disposition, the Betawi culture–based CTL model had a stronger effect; whereas (4) among students with low mathematical disposition, the difference in mathematical problem-solving ability was not statistically significant.
