Abstract
Kata kunci: psychological capital, dukungan sosial, kesepian, emerging adulthood, artificial intelligence.***** This study aims to examine the effect of psychological capital on loneliness mediated by social support among emerging adults who use AI as an emotional companion. A quantitative approach was employed using purposive sampling, involving 170 emerging adults aged 18–29 years in the Greater Jakarta area who had used AI as a medium for sharing personal concerns for at least four weeks. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using path analysis with JASP version 0.19.1, utilizing the CPC, ISEL, and DJGLS instruments. The results indicated that psychological capital had no significant direct effect on loneliness (p = 0.372 > 0.05). However, a significant indirect effect of psychological capital on loneliness through social support was found (p < 0.001), indicating that social support fully mediates the relationship between psychological capital and loneliness. These findings suggest that psychological capital does not directly reduce loneliness but operates through enhancing perceived social support among emerging adults who use AI as an emotional companion. Keywords: psychological capital, social support, loneliness, emerging adulthood, artificial intelligence.
