Abstract

Media sosial sebagai sarana komunikasi berbasis internet memungkinkan terjadinya interaksi, pertukaran informasi, serta pembentukan makna secara cepat dan masif. TikTok sebagai salah satu media sosial yang banyak digunakan Generasi Z memiliki karakteristik visual dan emosional yang berpotensi memengaruhi cara audiens memersepsikan isu dan figur publik, termasuk dalam konteks politik. Kerangka pemikiran penelitian ini didasarkan pada teori New Media yang menekankan karakteristik media digital seperti interaktivitas, partisipasi pengguna, dan fleksibilitas penyampaian pesan. Konten media sosial diposisikan sebagai stimulus yang dapat memengaruhi proses persepsi audiens melalui aspek kognitif dan afektif. Persepsi Generasi Z dalam penelitian ini dipahami sebagai hasil proses interpretasi terhadap pesan emosional yang disampaikan melalui media sosial TikTok. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma positivistik dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Metode penulisan melalui metode survei. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner kepada Generasi Z pengguna TikTok yang telah berinteraksi dengan konten emosional akun @king.uyakuya. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Pengujian instrumen penelitian dilakukan melalui uji validitas dan uji reliabilitas. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas, uji heteroskedastisitas, analisis regresi linier sederhana, uji koefisien determinasi, serta uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media sosial TikTok @king.uyakuya memiliki pengaruh terhadap persepsi Generasi Z di Indonesia. Konten emosional yang disajikan mampu membentuk penilaian, memengaruhi sudut pandang, serta memunculkan respons emosional audiens dalam memaknai isu dan figur publik. Proses pengujian data menunjukkan bahwa media sosial berperan sebagai faktor yang memengaruhi persepsi Generasi Z terhadap konten politik yang dikemas secara emosional. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa media sosial TikTok @king.uyakuya terbukti berpengaruh terhadap persepsi Generasi Z di Indonesia. Adapun saran yang diberikan adalah agar kreator konten lebih memperhatikan etika penyampaian pesan politik di media sosial serta Generasi Z diharapkan mampu bersikap kritis dalam menginterpretasikan konten politik yang diterima. Bagi penelitian selanjutnya, disarankan untuk mengembangkan variabel atau pendekatan teori yang lebih beragam.***** Social media, as an internet-based communication medium, enables interaction, information exchange, and rapid as well as massive Meaning construction. TikTok, as one of the most widely used social media platforms among Generation Z, possesses visual and emotional characteristics that have the potential to influence how audiences perceive issues and public figures, including within the political context. The conceptual framework of this study is based on New Media theory, which emphasizes the characteristics of digital media such as interactivity, user participation, and flexibility in message delivery. Social media content is positioned as a stimulus that can influence the audience’s perceptual process through cognitive and affective aspects. In this study, the perception of Generation Z is understood as the result of an interpretative process toward emotional messages delivered through TikTok social media. This research employs a positivistic paradigm with a quantitative approach and an explanatory research design. The research method is field research using a survey method. Data were collected through the distribution of questionnaires to Generation Z TikTok users who had interacted with emotional content on the @king.uyakuya account. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Instrument testing was conducted through validity and reliability tests. Furthermore, data analysis included normality testing, heteroscedasticity testing, simple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination testing, and hypothesis testing. The results of the study indicate that the TikTok social media account @king.uyakuya has an influence on the perceptions of Generation Z in Indonesia. The emotional content presented is able to shape judgments, influence perspectives, and evoke emotional responses among audiences in interpreting issues and public figures. The data testing process shows that social media plays a role as a factor influencing Generation Z’s perceptions of emotionally framed political content. The conclusion of this study states that the TikTok social media account @king.uyakuya has a significant influence on the perceptions of Generation Z in Indonesia. The study suggests that content creators should pay greater attention to ethical considerations in delivering political messages on social media, while Generation Z is expected to be more critical in interpreting political content encountered online. Future studies are recommended to develop more diverse variables or theoretical approaches.
