Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan relasi makna hiponimi yang terdapat dalam album Tout le bonheur du monde oleh Kids United. Relasi hiponimi merupakan salah satu bentuk hubungan makna yang menempatkan makna sebuah kata pada makna yang lebih spesifik. Kajian ini menggunakan teori Lehmann & Berthet (2018) yang membagi hiponimi ke dalam empat aspek utama, yaitu inclusion extensionnelle (inklusi ekstensi), inclusion intensionnelle (inklusi intensi), relation d’implication (hubungan implikasi), dan structures hiérarchiques (struktur hierarki). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik analisis isi untuk menelaah kata dan frasa. Data penelitian diperoleh dari empat lagu dalam album tersebut, yaitu berjudul Tout le bonheur du monde, Qui a le droit, Si, dan Le pouvoir des fleurs. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari total 35 data yang dianalisis, seluruhnya memenuhi aspek inclusion extensionnelle, inclusion intensionnelle, dan structures hiérarchiques. Sementara itu, aspek relation d’implication terdapat pada 33 data; dua data lainnya tidak memenuhi aspek ini karena bersifat metafora. Temuan-temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa album ini kaya akan relasi makna hiponimi, baik dalam bentuk literal maupun metaforis. Penelitian juga mengungkap bahwa relasi hiponimi berkontribusi pada pembentukan pesan dalam lirik lagu, terutama dalam menggambarkan keadaan, tindakan, dan konsep abstrak yang muncul secara repetitif untuk memperkuat makna. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada kajian linguistik, khususnya semantik, dan membuka peluang bagi kajian lebih lanjut terkait relasi makna dalam teks musik berbahasa Prancis. Selain itu, penelitian ini bermanfaat dalam pengembangan bahan ajar kosakata bahasa Prancis. Dengan memanfaatkan lirik lagu sebagai media, peserta didik dapat mempelajari struktur makna secara lebih kontekstual dan menyenangkan.***** This study aims to describe the hyponymic meaning relations found in the album Tout le bonheur du monde by Kids United. Hyponymy relations are a form of semantic relationship that places the meaning of a word in a more specific meaning. This study uses the theory of Lehmann & Berthet (2018), which divides hyponymy into four main aspects, namely inclusion extensionnelle (extensional inclusion), inclusion intensionnelle (intensional inclusion), relation d’implication (implication relation), and structures hiérarchiques (hierarchical structures). This study uses a qualitative approach with content analysis techniques to examine words and phrases. The research data was obtained from four songs in the album, namely Tout le bonheur du monde, Qui a le droit, Si, and Le pouvoir des fleurs. The results show that of the total 35 data analyzed, all of them fulfill the aspects of extensionnelle inclusion, intensionnelle inclusion, and hierarchical structures. Meanwhile, the aspect of relation d'implication is found in 33 data; the other two data do not fulfill this aspect because they are metaphorical. These findings show that this album is rich in hyponymic meaning relations, both in literal and metaphorical forms. The analysis also reveals that hyponymic relations contribute to the formation of messages in song lyrics, especially in describing states, actions, and abstract concepts that appear repetitively to reinforce meaning. This research has implications for linguistic studies, particularly semantics, and opens up opportunities for further study related to the relationship between meaning and French-language music texts. In addition, this research is useful in the development of French vocabulary teaching materials. By utilizing song lyrics as a medium, students can learn meaning structures in a more contextual and enjoyable way.
