Abstract
Penelitian ini menyelidiki integrasi nilai-nilai Profil Siswa Pancasila (PSP) dalam buku teks berjudul Bright: An English Course untuk SMP/MTs Kelas VII, yang digunakan di sekolah menengah pertama di Indonesia. Sejalan dengan tujuam pendidikan nasional untuk menanamkan pendidikan karakter di semua mata pelajaran, penelitian ini mengatasi kesenjangan dalam penelitian sebelumnya, yang terutama meneliti materi yang dikeluarkan pemerintah. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis konten kualitatif deduktif, penelitian ini menerapkan enam dimensi PSP resmi, Iman dan Karakter Mulia, Keberagaman Global, Berpikir Kritis, Kreativitas, Kerja Sama, dan Kemandirian, sebagai kerangka analisisnya. Dimensi-dimensi ini dioperasionalkan ke dalam matriks pengkodean yang terdiri dari 18 elemen dan 36 sub-elemen. Unit analisis meliputi teks bacaan, instruksi tugas, prompt proyek, elemen visual, dan ekspresi sarat nilai. Data dianalisis dalam empat tahap: pembiasaan, formulasi indikator, pengkodean sistematis, dan interpretasi tematik. Microsoft Excel dan NVivo mendukung organisasi data manual dan digital. Pemetaan berbasis frekuensi dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi distribusi nilai-nilai PSP di seluruh konten. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Iman dan Akhlak Mulia muncul paling sering (28%), diikuti oleh Keberagaman Global (25%), Berpikir Kritis (23%), Kreativitas (9%), Kerja Sama (9%), dan Kemandirian (6%). Meskipun nilai-nilai terkait moralitas dan keberagaman sangat ditekankan, indikator agensi dan inovasi pembelajar kurang terlihat. Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya ketidakseimbangan dalam integrasi nilai, yang menunjukkan perlunya representasi yang lebih komprehensif dari semua dimensi Profil Siswa Pancasila. Studi ini menawarkan implikasi praktis bagi pengembang dan pendidik buku teks, serta berkontribusi pada pengembangan kerangka kerja yang sadar nilai untuk evaluasi buku teks dalam konteks ELT Indonesia. ***** This study investigates the integration of Pancasila Student Profile (PSP) values in Bright: An English Course for SMP/MTs Grade VII, a textbook widely used in Indonesian junior high schools. Aligned with the national education mandate to embed character education across all subjects, this research addresses a gap in prior studies, which have primarily examined government-issued materials. Using a deductive qualitative content analysis approach, the study applies the six official PSP dimensions, Faith and Noble Character, Global Diversity, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Cooperation, and Independence, as its analytical framework. These dimensions were operationalized into a coding matrix comprising 18 elements and 36 sub-elements. Units of analysis included reading texts, task instructions, project prompts, visual elements, and value-laden expressions. Data were analyzed in four stages: familiarization, indicator formulation, systematic coding, and thematic interpretation. Microsoft Excel and NVivo supported both manual and digital data organization. A frequency-based mapping was conducted to identify the distribution of PSP values across content. Results show that Faith and Noble Character appeared most frequently (28%), followed by Global Diversity (25%), Critical Thinking (23%), Creativity (9%), Cooperation (9%), and Independence (6%). While values related to morality and diversity were strongly emphasized, indicators of learner agency and innovation were less visible. These findings indicate an imbalance in value integration, suggesting a need for more comprehensive representation of all Pancasila Student Profiles dimensions. This study offers practical implications for textbook developers and educators, and contributes to the development of value-conscious frameworks for textbook evaluation in Indonesian ELT contexts.
