Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar Peserta didik kelas III MI Al-Khairiyah pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam, terutama materi “Agama dan Kepercayaan Masyarakat Arab Sebelum Islam”. Hal ini dipengaruhi oleh media pembelajaran yang belum variatif dan metode ceramah saat belajar di kelas. Kajian teori meliputi konsep pengembangan media pembelajaran, kajian buku cerita bergambar, kajian Madrasah Ibtidaiyah dan karakteristik peserta didik tahap operasional konkret, serta materi Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam kelas III. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) dengan model Rowntree yang terdiri atas (1) Tahap Perencanaan (2) Tahap Persiapan Penulisan, serta (3) Penulisan dan Penyuntingan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media buku cerita bergambar yang telah dikembangkan mampu memvisualisasikan kronologi sejarah secara lebih konkret dan menarik perhatian melalui ilustrasi berwarna cerah, sehingga membantu pemahaman dan daya ingat pdeserta didik. Uji kelayakan dilakukan dengan Ahli materi, Ahli media pembelajaran, serta peserta didik dalam uji coba Face-to-face, menunjukkan respon positif dan media dinyatakan “sangat layak” untuk digunakan. Kesimpulannya, buku cerita bergambar ini layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran pelengkap bahan ajar untuk meningkatkan pemahaman peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam materi “Agama dan Kepercayaan Masyarakat Arab Sebelum Islam”. ***** This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of third-grade students at MI Al-Khairiyah in the subject of Islamic Cultural History, especially the material on “Religion and Beliefs of Arab Society Before Islam.” This was influenced by the lack of variety in learning media and the lecture method used in class. The theoretical study covers the concept of learning media development, a study of picture story books, a study of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah and the characteristics of students in the concrete operational stage, as well as third grade Islamic Cultural History material. This study uses a research and development (R&D) method with the Rowntree model, which consists of (1) Planning Stage, (2) Writing Preparation Stage, and (3) Writing and Editing Stage. The results of the study indicate that the illustrated storybook media that has been developed is able to visualize the chronology of history in a more concrete and interesting way through brightly colored illustrations, thereby helping students' understanding and memory. Feasibility tests were conducted with subject matter experts, learning media experts, and students in face to-face trials, showing positive responses and the media was declared “highly feasible” for use. In conclusion, this picture storybook is feasible for use as a supplementary learning medium to improve students' understanding of the subject of Islamic Culture Islamic Cultural History subject on the topic “Religion and Beliefs of Arab Society Before Islam.”
