Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) berbantuan LKPD terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen semu dengan jenis desain eksperimennya adalah Posttest-Only Control Group Design. Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik Cluster Random Sampling dengan kelas terpilih adalah kelas VIII-B sebagai kelas kontrol yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional dan kelas VIII-H sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan pembelajaran MEAs berbantuan LKPD di SMPN 268 Jakarta. Kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik diukur menggunakan instrumen penelitian yang terdiri dari lima soal uraian disusun berdasarkan indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis pada materi statistika dan telah dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan menggunakan uji Mann Whitney dengan taraf signifikansi sebesar 5% dengan hasil z_hitung=2,1645 dan z_((0,95))=1,645, sehingga z_hitung>z_((0,95)) yang berarti sudah cukup bukti untuk menolak H_0. Dengan hasil ini, didapat bahwa rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik yang menerapkan pembelajaran MEAs berbantuan LKPD lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik yang menerapkan pembelajaran konvensional. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran MEAs berbantuan LKPD terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis peserta didik SMPN 268 Jakarta dengan besar pengaruh menggunakan Cliff’s Delta sebesar δ=0,3138 yang masuk dalam kategori sedang. The research method used a quasi-experiment with Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The sample was drawn using Cluster Random Sampling technique with the selected class is class VIII-B as the control class that implements conventional learning and class VIII-H as the experimental class that applies MEAs approach assisted by student’s worksheet at SMPN 268 Jakarta. Students’ mathematical communication skills were measured using a research instrument consisting of five essay questions based on indicators of mathematical communication skills in the statistics material, which have been validated and are reliable. Hypothesis testing was calculated using the Mann Whitney test with a significance level of 5%, resulting in z_hitung=2,1645 with z_((0,95))=1,64, so z_hitung>z_((0,95)), which means there is sufficient evidence to reject H_0. With this result, it was found that the average mathematical communication skills of students who applied MEAs approach assisted by student’s worksheet is higher than average mathematical communication skills of students who applied conventional learning. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the implementation of MEAs approach assisted by students’ worksheet on the mathematical communication skills of SMPN 268 Jakarta students with a large effect size using Cliff’s Delta of δ = 0,3138, which included in the medium category.
