Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengadaptasi Program The Body Project dalam rangka meningkatkan citra tubuh positif pada murid sekolah menengah pertama. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan adaptasi intervensi lintas budaya dengan mengacu pada kerangka heuristik Barrera dan Castro (2006). Proses adaptasi menghasilkan buku panduan sebagai media implementasi program dalam layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling di sekolah. Uji coba dilakukan pada 10 murid perempuan kelas VIII SMPN 181 Jakarta dan 7 murid perempuan SMPN 12 Kota Tangerang, dengan melibatkan dua dosen sebagai ahli materi dan tiga guru Bimbingan dan Konseling sebagai praktisi. Instrumen penelitian meliputi lembar validasi ahli, pedoman wawancara, serta Multidimensional Body-Self Relations Questionnaire Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program hasil adaptasi memiliki tingkat kelayakan yang sangat baik, dengan persentase validasi ahli materi sebesar 93,4%, ahli media sebesar 77,5%, dan praktisi sebesar 77,77%. Selain itu, hasil uji coba menunjukkan adanya perubahan positif pada citra tubuh murid, yang ditandai dengan peningkatan skor appearance evaluation dari 3,06 menjadi 3,24 serta penurunan skor overweight preoccupation dari 3,45 menjadi 3,05. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa program adaptasi The Body Project valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif layanan Bimbingan dan Konseling dalam upaya membangun citra tubuh positif pada murid SMP, dengan buku panduan sebagai media implementasi program di sekolah. Kata kunci: Adaptasi Program, The Body Project, Citra Tubuh Positif, SMP. ***** This study aims to adapt The Body Project program to promote positive body image among junior high school students. The study employs a cross cultural intervention adaptation approach based on the heuristic framework proposed by Barrera and Castro (2006). The adaptation process resulted in a guidebook to serve as a tool for implementing the program within the school’s Guidance and Counseling services. A pilot study was conducted with 10 female eighth grade students at SMPN 181 Jakarta and 7 female students at SMPN 12 Kota Tangerang, involving two lecturers as subject matter experts and three Guidance and Counseling teachers as practitioners. Research instruments included an expert validation form, an interview guide, and the Multidimensional Body Self Relations Questionnaire Appearance Scale (MBSRQ-AS). The results indicated that the adapted program demonstrated excellent feasibility, with validation percentages of 93.4% from subject matter experts, 77.5% from media experts, and 77.77% from practitioners. Additionally, the pilot test results showed positive changes in students’ body image, marked by an increase in the appearance evaluation score from 3.06 to 3.24 and a decrease in the overweight preoccupation score from 3.45 to 3.05. These findings indicate that the adapted version of The Body Project is valid, practical, and effective for use as an alternative in Guidance and Counseling services aimed at fostering a positive body image among junior high school students, with the guidebook serving as the medium for program implementation in schools.
