Abstract

Penelitian ini didasarkan atas hasil observasi dan tes kemampuan awal berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang dilakukan di kelas VIII-I SMPN 73 Jakarta, hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa masih belum masksimal sehingga diperlukan adanya upaya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi alternatif dalam pembelajaran di kelas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas VIII-I SMPN 73 Jakarta melalui penerapan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, analisis dan refleksi. Pembelajaran pada tiap siklus dengan menerapkan model PBL. Pada tiap siklus, siswa diberikan tes akhir siklus untuk mengukur kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar observasi, tes akhir siklus, alat dokumentasi, dan pedoman wawancara. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, tes berupa uraian, wawancara, dan dokumentasi selama proses pembelajaran. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran matematika melalui model Problem Based Learning dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa. Hal tersebut ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan nilai rata-rata tes akhir yang diberikan pada tiap siklus. Rata-rata nilai tes akhir kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas VIII-I pada siklus 1 adalah 50,29, pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 75,15. Kemudian jumlah siswa yang sudah mencapai KKM juga mengalami peningkatan. Pada siklus I sebanyak 11,77% dari jumlah siswa, pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 79,41% dari jumlah siswa. *** This research is based on the result of observation and early test of students' Mathematical Critical Thinking Skills in class VIII-I SMPN 73 Jakarta, the test result shows that students' mathematical critical thinking skills is still not maximum so that effort is needed to increase students' mathematical critical thinking skills. Through the implementation of Problem Based Learning model is expected to be an alternative solution in learning in the classroom. The purpose of this research is to increase the critical thinking skills mathematically students of class VIII-I SMPN 73 Jakarta through the implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles, each cycle consisting of 4 stages, namely planning, implementation, observation, analysis and reflection. Learning on each cycle by applying the PBL model. In each cycle, students are given final-cycle tests to measure students' mathematical critical thinking skills. Instruments used to collect data in this research are observation sheets, end-cycle tests, documentation tools, and interview guides. Data collection is done by observation, test in the form of essay, interview, and documentation during learning process. Data analysis was done descriptively qualitative and quantitative. The results showed that learning mathematics through Problem Based Learning model can increase students' mathematical critical thinking skills. This is indicated by an increase in the average value of the final test given in each cycle. The average value of the final test of mathematical critical thinking skills of class VIII-I students in cycle 1 was 50.29, in the second cycle increased to 75.15. Then the number of students who have reached the KKM also increased. In the first cycle as much as 11.77% of the number of students, in the second cycle increased to 79.41% of the number of students.
