Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA peserta didik kelas V SDN Kranji IV Kota Bekasi melalui penerapan metode eksperimen. Penelitian menggunakan desain Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus, masing-masing terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian adalah 24 peserta didik kelas V. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi dan tes hasil belajar, sedangkan analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode eksperimen memberikan peningkatan yang signifikan terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Ketuntasan belajar meningkat dari 41,6% pada siklus I menjadi 79,16% pada siklus II. Aktivitas guru dan peserta didik juga mengalami peningkatan, di mana tindakan guru meningkat dari 80% menjadi 100%, dan aktivitas peserta didik dari 70% menjadi 90%. Penerapan metode eksperimen terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada materi cahaya dan sifat-sifatnya, serta mendorong keaktifan dan partisipasi dalam proses pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, metode eksperimen dapat menjadi alternatif strategi pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA pada siswa sekolah dasar. Kata Kunci: Hasil Belajar IPA, Metode Eksperimen, Cahaya dan Sifatnya ***** This study aims to improve the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN Kranji IV, Bekasi City through the application of experimental methods. The study used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design implemented in two cycles, each consisting of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of the study were 24 fifth-grade students. Data collection techniques included observation and learning outcome tests, while data analysis was conducted descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that the experimental method provided a significant increase in student learning outcomes. Learning completeness increased from 41.6% in cycle I to 79.16% in cycle II. Teacher and student activities also increased, where teacher actions increased from 80% to 100%, and student activities from 70% to 90%. The application of the experimental method was proven effective in improving students' understanding of the material on light and its properties, as well as encouraging activeness and participation in the learning process. Thus, the experimental method can be an alternative effective learning strategy to improve science learning outcomes in elementary school students.
