Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh latihan plyometric depth jump dan plyometric jump to box terhadap peningkatan power otot tungkai serta membandingkan efektivitas kedua bentuk latihan tersebut pada atlet bola tangan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode quasi eksperimen dengan desain Pretest-Posttest Two Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 20 atlet yang ditentukan melalui teknik purposive sampling, kemudian dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok perlakuan dengan masing-masing kelompok berjumlah 10 atlet. Program latihan diberikan selama 8 minggu dengan frekuensi latihan dua kali setiap minggu. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes Triple Hop Jump (THJ) untuk mengukur power otot tungkai. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas, paired sample t-test, dan independent sample t-test dengan taraf signifikansi sebesar 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok yang memperoleh latihan plyometric depth jump mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 5,2200 m pada pretest menjadi 6,5470 m pada posttest dengan peningkatan sebesar 1,3270 m. Hasil uji paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai t = -10,733 dengan p < 0,001, yang mengindikasikan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan. Sementara itu, kelompok plyometric jump to box mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 5,2120 m menjadi 6,2150 m atau meningkat sebesar 1,0030 m, dengan hasil uji t = -9,838 dan p < 0,001. Hasil independent sample t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan peningkatan power otot tungkai antara kedua kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok yang menjalani latihan plyometric depth jump memperoleh peningkatan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok plyometric jump to box. Oleh karena itu, kedua metode latihan terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan power otot tungkai, namun plyometric depth jump memiliki efektivitas yang lebih baik pada atlet bola tangan Universitas Negeri Jakarta. ***** The aim of this study is to examine the effects of plyometric depth jump and plyometric jump to box training on lower limb muscle power and to compare the effectiveness of these two training methods among handball athletes at Universi-tas Negeri Jakarta. This study employed a quasi-experimental method using a Pretest–Posttest Two-Group Design. The sample consisted of 20 handball ath-letes, selected through purposive sampling, who were equally assigned to two treatment groups of 10 participants each. The training program was conducted over 8 weeks with a frequency of two sessions per week. Data were collected us-ing the Triple Hop Jump (THJ) test to assess lower limb muscle power. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the normality test, the paired-samples t-test, and the independent-samples t-test at a significance level of 0.05. The re-sults revealed that the plyometric depth jump group demonstrated an increase in the mean score from 5.2200 m at the pretest to 6.5470 m at the posttest, repre-senting an improvement of 1.3270 m. The paired-samples t-test yielded t = −10.733 with p < 0.001, indicating a statistically significant improvement. Meanwhile, the plyometric jump to box group showed an increase in the mean score from 5.2120 m to 6.2150 m, with an improvement of 1.0030 m. The paired-samples t-test produced t = −9.838 with p < 0.001, also indicating a statistically significant improvement. Furthermore, the results of the independent-samples t-test demonstrated a significant difference in the improvement of lower limb mus-cle power between the two groups. The plyometric depth jump group achieved greater improvements than the plyometric jump to box group. Therefore, both training methods were effective in enhancing lower limb muscle power; however, plyometric depth jump training proved to be more effective than plyometric jump to box training among handball athletes at Universitas Negeri Jakarta.
