Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan permissive parenting dengan karakter bertanggung jawab pada gen alpha kelas VII di SMP Negeri 233 Jakarta. Penelitian dilakukan pada 31 maret – 8 april 2026 dengan sampel sebanyak 150 siswa. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kuantitatif desain korelasional melalui Google From skala likert 1-5. Hasil uji prasyarat analisis meliputi uji normalitas sebesar 0,200 dan uji linearitas sebesar 0,658. Pada pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji koefisien korelasi product moment serta uji regresi linear sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara permissive parenting dan karakter bertanggung jawab. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan nilai koefisien korelasi product moment sebesar -0,415. Selanjutnya, nilai signifikansi regresi linear sederhana <,001 < 0,05 dengan persamaan regresi Y=130.614 – 0,398. Temuan tersebut terjadi karena minimnya pemberian hukuman, pengawasan, serta arahan yang diterapkan permissive parenting. Kemudian, nilai R Square sebesar 0,172 bermakna permissive parenting memberikan kontribusi sebesar 17,2% terhadap karakter bertanggung jawab. Dengan tingkat kontribusi tergolong sangat rendah menunjukkan terdapat faktor dominan lain yang turut berkaitan dengan karakter bertanggung jawab. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa semakin tinggi permissive parenting maka semakin rendah karakter bertanggung jawab. Penelitian ini berimplikasi sebagai bahan refleksi bagi orang tua dalam mempertahankan atau memperbaiki tipe parenting yang selama ini diterapkan. ****** This study aims to examine the relationship between permissive parenting and a sense of responsibility among seventh-grade students in Class Alpha at SMP Negeri 233 Jakarta. The study was conducted from March 31 to April 8, 2026, with a sample of 150 students. The research method used was a quantitative correlational design via Google Forms, employing a 1–5 Likert scale. The results of the prerequisite tests for analysis included a normality test with a value of 0.200 and a linearity test with a value of 0.658. Hypothesis testing was performed using the product-moment correlation coefficient and simple linear regression. The results indicate a significant negative relationship between permissive parenting and responsible character. This is evidenced by a product-moment correlation coefficient of -0.415. Furthermore, the significance level of the simple linear regression was <0.001 (p < 0.05), with the regression equation Y = 130.614 – 0.398. These findings stem from the minimal use of punishment, supervision, and guidance characteristic of permissive parenting. Furthermore, the R-squared value of 0.172 indicates that permissive parenting contributes 17.2% to responsible character. Since this level of contribution is classified as very low, it suggests that there are other dominant factors also associated with responsible character. Thus, it can be concluded that the higher the level of permissive parenting, the lower the level of responsible character. This study serves as a basis for reflection for parents in maintaining or improving the parenting style they have been practicing.
