Abstract
Pencatatan kehadiran siswa merupakan bagian penting dalam mendukung kedisiplinan dan pengelolaan informasi kehadiran di sekolah. Namun, metode presensi manual yang digunakan di SMP Islam Al-Azhar Bukittinggi masih menimbulkan kendala berupa lamanya proses pencatatan dan rekapitulasi, tingginya aktivitas administratif, ketidaklengkapan data, serta keterbatasan akses informasi bagi orang tua. Penelitian ini bertujuan menerapkan teknologi Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) berbasis Internet of Things (IoT) untuk meningkatkan efisiensi proses presensi, efektivitas pengelolaan data kehadiran, serta menyediakan sarana pemantauan bagi admin tata usaha, wali kelas/guru, dan orang tua. Metode penelitian menggunakan model prototyping menurut Pressman yang meliputi tahap communication, quick plan, modeling quick design, construction of prototype, serta deployment, delivery, and feedback. Sistem dikembangkan menggunakan NodeMCU ESP8266, RFID reader MFRC522, basis data MySQL, dashboard website berbasis PHP, dan integrasi notifikasi WhatsApp. Hasil pengujian efisiensi selama lima hari terhadap 33 siswa dengan total 165 data presensi menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu meningkatkan efisiensi waktu sebesar 84,50%, dengan waktu proses berkurang dari 3.066,66 detik menjadi 475,40 detik. Pengujian System Usability Scale (SUS) memperoleh skor rata-rata 81,16 dalam kategori good, yang menunjukkan tingkat penerimaan dan kemudahan penggunaan yang baik. Hasil pengujian efektivitas menunjukkan bahwa sistem mampu meningkatkan kelengkapan data presensi dari 95,76% menjadi 100% serta mengurangi intervensi manual dari 14 aktivitas menjadi 7 aktivitas. Sistem juga mampu memperbarui informasi kehadiran dan kepulangan siswa secara otomatis pada dashboard tanpa refresh manual serta mengirimkan notifikasi WhatsApp kepada orang tua, meskipun waktu penerimaannya bervariasi karena melibatkan jaringan dan layanan pihak ketiga. Dengan demikian, sistem yang dikembangkan mampu mendukung digitalisasi proses presensi serta meningkatkan efisiensi dan efektivitas pengelolaan data kehadiran siswa di SMP Islam Al-Azhar Bukittinggi. ***** Student attendance recording is an important component in supporting discipline and managing attendance information at school. However, the manual attendance method used at SMP Islam Al-Azhar Bukittinggi still causes several problems, including lengthy recording and recapitulation processes, high administrative workload, incomplete data, and limited access to attendance information for parents. This study aims to implement Internet of Things (IoT)-based Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology to improve attendance process efficiency, enhance the effectiveness of attendance data management, and provide monitoring facilities for administrative staff, homeroom teachers, and parents. The research employed Pressman’s prototyping model, consisting of the communication, quick plan, modeling quick design, construction of prototype, and deployment, delivery, and feedback stages. The system was developed using an NodeMCU ESP8266, an MFRC522 RFID reader, a MySQL database, a PHP-based website dashboard, and WhatsApp notification integration. The results of the five-day efficiency test involving 33 students and 165 attendance records showed that the system improved time efficiency by 84.50%, reducing the processing time from 3,066.66 seconds to 475.40 seconds. The System Usability Scale (SUS) test obtained an average score of 81.16 in the good category, indicating a good level of user acceptance and ease of use. The effectiveness test showed that the system increased attendance data completeness from 95.76% to 100% and reduced manual intervention from 14 activities to 7 activities. The system was also able to update student arrival and departure information automatically on the dashboard without requiring a manual page refresh and send WhatsApp notifications to parents, although the reception time varied due to the involvement of networks and third-party services. Therefore, the developed system can support the digitalization of student attendance processes and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of attendance data management at SMP Islam Al-Azhar Bukittinggi
