Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak perilaku narsistik digital terhadap interaksi sosial siswa di lingkungan sekolah SMP Negeri 14 Jakarta. Intensitas penggunaan media sosial yang tinggi mendorong munculnya perilaku narsistik digital, yaitu kecenderungan menampilkan diri untuk memperoleh perhatian, pengakuan, dan validasi sosial. Kondisi ini berpotensi memengaruhi interaksi sosial siswa di lingkungan sekolah. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada aspek percakapan, saling pengertian, kerja sama, keterbukaan, empati, dukungan sosial, rasa positif, dan kesamaan dalam interaksi sosial siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 14 Jakarta dengan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku narsistik digital memberikan dampak terhadap interaksi sosial siswa, namun tidak sepenuhnya bersifat negatif. Media sosial memudahkan komunikasi, keterbukaan, serta pembentukan hubungan berdasarkan kesamaan minat, tetapi juga meningkatkan risiko kesalahpahaman dan konflik. Siswa tetap menunjukkan kerja sama, empati, dukungan sosial, dan rasa positif dalam hubungan pertemanan. Dengan demikian, perilaku narsistik digital lebih memengaruhi pola dan cara siswa berinteraksi melalui perpaduan komunikasi digital dan tatap muka daripada menurunkan kualitas interaksi sosial di lingkungan sekolah. ***** This study aims to determine the impact of digital narcissistic behavior on students' social interactions at SMP Negeri 14 Jakarta. The high intensity of social media use encourages the emergence of digital narcissistic behavior, namely the tendency to present oneself in order to gain attention, recognition, and social validation. This condition has the potential to influence students' social interactions within the school environment. The study focuses on the aspects of conversation, mutual understanding, cooperation, openness, empathy, social support, positive feelings, and similarity in students' social interactions. This research employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The study was conducted at SMP Negeri 14 Jakarta, and data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings indicate that digital narcissistic behavior affects students' social interactions, but the impact is not entirely negative. Social media facilitates communication, openness, and the formation of relationships based on shared interests, while also increasing the risk of misunderstandings and conflicts. Students continue to demonstrate cooperation, empathy, social support, and positive feelings in their friendships. Therefore, digital narcissistic behavior influences the patterns and ways students interact through a combination of digital and face-to-face communication rather than reducing the quality of social interactions within the school environment.
