Abstract

Sebanyak 75% hairdresser pemula mengalami kesulitan mengatur arah angin dan posisi sisir saat Blowdry rambut model layer, sehingga 85,7% responden di Irwanteam Hair Design menilai hasil penataannya belum sesuai standar profesional. Blowdry dipilih sebagai teknik penataan akhir pascapangkas layer karena mampu mempertahankan volume alami dan menonjolkan tekstur bertingkat secara natural, tanpa proses ini, struktur layer cenderung tampak datar dan gradasi potongan tidak terbaca jelas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan video tutorial yang layak, praktis, dan efektif. Produk yang dihasilkan berupa video tutorial berformat MP4 Full HD dengan durasi ±10 menit yang terbagi menjadi 8 segmen materi dengan materi meliputi pola pembagian 7 section, teknik blow, serta teknik penguncian roller. Validasi dua tahap menunjukkan peningkatan skor ahli media dari 79% menjadi 87%, ahli materi akademisi dari 90% menjadi 95,71%, dan ahli materi praktisi dari 78,57% menjadi 95,71%, berdasarkan revisi terhadap detail arah aliran udara, ukuran sisir blow, dan fungsi kosmetika penataan. Secara kumulatif, kelayakan akhir mencapai 95,71% (ahli materi) dan 87% (ahli media). Uji coba pada 10 hairdresser pemula menghasilkan skor praktikalitas 90,31% (Sangat Praktis), sementara uji efektivitas menunjukkan kenaikan nilai rata-rata dari 17,1 (pre-test) menjadi 22,3 (post-test) dengan N-Gain score 0,768 (kategori tinggi). Video tutorial ini terbukti layak dan efektif sebagai sumber belajar untuk meningkatkan keterampilan teknis penataan rambut sesuai standar industri salon profesional. ***** Approximately 75% of novice hairdressers experience difficulty controlling airflow direction and comb positioning when blow-drying layered haircuts, resulting in 85.7% of respondents at Irwanteam Hair Design rating their styling outcomes as below professional standards. Blowdry was selected as the finishing technique for post-cut layered hair because it preserves natural volume and accentuates the tiered texture organically; without this process, the layer structure tends to appear flat and the graduation of the cut becomes indistinct. This study aims to produce a video tutorial that is valid, practical, and effective. The resulting product is an MP4 Full HD video tutorial with a duration of approximately 10 minutes, divided into 8 instructional segments covering the 7-section parting pattern, Blowdrying technique, and roller locking technique. A two-stage validation process showed improvement in scores from the media expert (79% to 87%), the academic content expert (90% to 95.71%), and the practitioner content expert (78.57% to 95.71%), following revisions to airflow direction details, blow brush sizing, and the function of styling cosmetics. Cumulatively, the final validity scores reached 95.71% (content experts) and 87% (media expert). A trial conducted with 10 novice hairdressers yielded a practicality score of 90.31% (Very Practical), while the effectiveness test showed an increase in mean scores from 17.1 (pre-test) to 22.3 (posttest) with an N-Gain score of 0.768 (high category). This video tutorial is proven to be valid and effective as a learning resource for enhancing technical hairstyling skills in accordance with professional salon industry standards.
