Abstract

Kata Kunci: Quality of Service (QoS), Quality of Experience (QoE), NDLC, MOS, Wireshark. ***** Network quality has a direct influence on the quality of multimedia content received by users; consequently, the user’s Quality of Experience (QoE) when accessing the internet is largely determined by the measurement outcomes of the available Quality of Service (QoS). This study aims to analyze the quality of the “UNJ Hotspot (Mahasiswa)” Wi-Fi network in Building G at Universitas Negeri Jakarta, based on QoS and QoE parameters. The research employs the analysis phase of the Network Development Life Cycle (NDLC) methodology. QoS measurements were conducted via traffic capture on each floor using Wireshark to assess throughput, packet loss, delay, and jitter. QoE measurements were administered to 28 respondents out of a total of 30, using a questionnaire based on the Mean Opinion Score (MOS) scale. The technical findings indicate that the best QoS performance for the UNJ Hotspot (Mahasiswa) Wi-Fi network in Building G occurred during measurements on a holiday, with throughput reaching 2.871 Mbps on the 3rd floor at night, packet loss at 0.19% on the 2nd floor during the day, delay at 3.196 ms, and jitter at 5.255 ms on the 1st floor at night. The network’s technical quality on holidays proved to be superior to that on weekdays. Nevertheless, the QoE measurement results reveal that user satisfaction falls within the "fair" to "poor" categories, with an average score of 2.561 out of 5. Of the ten parameters assessed, six—namely audio quality, blurriness, edge noise, audio/video sync, service failure, and service setting-up time—were rated as "fair," while the remaining four were rated as "poor." Keywords: Quality of Service (QoS), Quality of Experience (QoE), NDLC, MOS, Wireshark.
