Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor penyebab terjadinya perilaku prokrastinasi akademik dalam penyelesaian tugas mata pelajaran IPS, dan untuk mengetahui dampak yang terjadi terhadap proses pembelajaran IPS, akibat adanya perilaku prokrastinasi akademik pada murid kelas VIII. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan meliputi observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan studi kepustakaan. Subjek dalam penelitian ini terdapat 8 informan, yang terdiri dari 1 informan kunci, 1 informan pendukung, dan 6 informan inti. Dalam hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa: (1) Prokrastinasi akademik murid kelas VIII dalam menyelesaikan mata pelajaran IPS dipengaruhi oleh beberapa faktor, yaitu faktor internal dan eksternal. (2) Dampak yang terjadi akibat adanya prokrastinasi akademik murid dalam menyelesaikan tugas IPS sangat memengaruhi perilaku murid pada saat proses pembelajaran. Kata Kunci: Prokrastinasi Akademik, Murid kelas VIII, Tugas IPS. ***** This study aims to identify the factors contributing to academic procrastination behavior in completing Social Studies assignments and to examine its impact on the Social Studies learning process among eighth-grade students. The data collection techniques employed included observation, interviews, documentation, and a literature review. The study involved eight informants, consisting of one key informant, one supporting informant, and six primary informants. The findings revealed that: (1) academic procrastination among eighth-grade students in completing Social Studies assignments is influenced by both internal and external factors; and (2) the impact of academic procrastination in completing Social Studies assignments significantly affects students' behavior during the learning process.
