Abstract
Pembelajaran materi sistem sirkulasi memerlukan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi, khususnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Pengembangan kemampuan tersebut dapat didukung melalui penerapan model inqiury-based learning (IBL) berbasis design thinking (DT). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model IBL berbasis DT terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif murid pada materi sistem sirkulasi. Metode penelitian ini adalah quasi experiment dengan desain pretest-posttest control group design. Penelitian melibatkan satu kelas eksperimen yang menerapkan model IBL berbasis DT dan satu kelas kontrol yang menggunakan model discovery learning berbasis saintifik. Populasi penelitian adalah murid kelas XI SMAN di Kabupaten Tangerang Provinsi Banten. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 62 murid yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan tes essay kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif. Hasil analisis N-Gain menunjukkan peningkatan tinggi pada kelompok eksperimen dan peningkatan sedang pada kelompok kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model IBL berbasis DT berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif murid pada materi sistem sirkulasi. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa model tersebut dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pembelajaran inovatif untuk mendukung pengembangan keterampilan abad ke-21 pemecahan masalah dan berpikir kreatif melalui eksplorasi, pengembangan, dan penyempurnaan ide secara aktif, dengan tetap memperhatikan kemampuan awal murid melalui asesmen diagnostik.*****Learning about the circulatory system requires higher-order thinking skills, particularly problem-solving ability and creative thinking skills. The development of these competencies can be supported through the implementation of design thinking (DT)-based inquiry-based learning (IBL). This study aimed to analyze the effect of DT-based IBL on students’ problem-solving ability and creative thinking skills in learning the circulatory system. This study employed a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The study involved one experimental class implementing DT-based IBL and one control class using scientific-based discovery learning. The population consisted of eleventh-grade students from a public senior high school in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, Indonesia. The sample comprised 62 students, selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected using essay tests to measure problem-solving ability and creative thinking skills. The N-gain analysis showed a high improvement in the experimental group and a moderate improvement in the control group. The findings revealed that DT-based IBL had a significant effect on students’ problem-solving ability and creative thinking skills in learning the circulatory system. These findings indicate that DT-based IBL can serve as an innovative instructional alternative to promote 21st-century competencies, particularly problem-solving ability and creative thinking skills, by engaging students in active exploration, idea generation, and idea refinement while considering their prior knowledge through diagnostic assessment.
