Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) terhadap kemampuan proses sains peserta didik pada materi hukum dasar kimia yang ditinjau berdasarkan perbedaan rata-rata antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2025/2026 di salah satu SMA Negeri di daerah Cibinong. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode quasi-experimental design serta desain penelitian the pre-test post-test nonequivalent group designs. Sampel dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, sehingga diperoleh kelas X-6 sebagai kelas eksperimen dengan menerapkan model Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) dan X-10 sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Direct Instruction (DI). Jumlah sampel penelitian adalah 94 peserta didik. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes esai sebanyak 12 butir soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor post-test kelas eksperimen (70,35) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (45,56). Nilai N-Gain kelas eksperimen (0,62) juga lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol (0,29). Uji Mann Whitney U menghasilkan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 (<0,05) yang menunjukkan hipotesis nol (H0) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (H1) diterima. Sehingga, berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan proses sains peserta didik pada materi hukum dasar kimia. ***** Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) on students’science process skills in the subject of basic chemical laws, as assessed based on the difference in means between the experimental and control classes. This study was conducted during the even semester of the 2025/2026 school year at a public high school in the Cibinong area. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi experimental design, specifically a pre-test-post-test nonequivalent groups design. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in Class X-6 as the experimental class, which implemented the Process-Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) model, and Class X-10 as the control class, which implemented the Direct Instruction (DI) model. The study sample consisted of 94 students. The instrument used was an essay test comprising 12 items. The results showed that the average post-test score of the experimental class (70.35) was higher than that of the control class (45.56). The N-Gain value of the experimental class (0.62) was also higher than that of the control class (0.29). The Mann-Whitney U test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating that the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. Therefore, based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) model has an effect on students’ science process skills regarding the topic of basic chemical laws.
