Abstract

Rendahnya keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dalam pembelajaran kimia dapat memengaruhi kemampuan siswa dalam menganalisis dan menyelesaikan permasalahan pada materi stoikiometri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Numbered Heads Together (NHT) berbasis pendekatan Social Emotional Learning (SEL) terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi stoikiometri. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri daerah Jakarta Barat tahun ajaran 2025/2026 menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi experimental non-equivalent control group. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan non-probability sampling, sehingga diperoleh kelas X-C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X-F sebagai kelas kontrol dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 72 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan pretest dan posttest berupa 20 soal pilihan ganda yang telah memenuhi kriteria valid dan reliabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi sebesar 79,03 dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 69,86. Hasil uji Mann-Whitney U memperoleh nilai Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,006 (p < 0,05), yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan antara keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol setelah diberikan perlakuan. Selain itu, rata-rata N-Gain kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,57 lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,47, yang keduanya termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Hasil tersebut menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi stoikiometri antara kelas yang menerapkan model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) berbasis pendekatan Social Emotional Learning dan kelas yang menerapkan pembelajaran berpusat pada guru. ***** The low level of students' critical thinking skills in chemistry learning may affect their ability to analyze and solve problems in stoichiometry. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) learning model based on the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) approach on students' critical thinking skills in stoichiometry. The study was conducted at West Jakarta State Senior High School during the 2025/2026 academic year using a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design. The samples were selected using a non-probability sampling technique, resulting in Class X-C as the experimental group and Class X-F as the control group, with a total of 72 students. Data were collected using pretests and posttests consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions that had met the validity and reliability criteria. The results showed that the mean posttest score of the experimental group (79.03) was higher than that of the control group (69.86). The Mann–Whitney U test yielded an Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.006 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant difference in students' critical thinking skills between the experimental and control groups after the treatment. Furthermore, the mean N-Gain score of the experimental group (0.57) was higher than that of the control group (0.47), with both groups falling into the moderate category. The results indicated a significant difference in students' critical thinking skills on the topic of stoichiometry between the class taught using the Numbered Heads Together (NHT) model integrated with the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) approach and the class taught using teacher-centered learning.
