Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh virtual reality laboratory (VRL) terhadap sikap kimia siswa pada topik larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit. Penelitian yang menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-experimental pretest and posttest non-equivalent control group. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik purposive sampling yang melibatkan 75 siswa kelas XI dari dua kelas utuh di sebuah SMA Negeri di Jakarta Timur pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2025/2026. Kelas eksperimen diajar menggunakan VRL, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan video Youtube. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah Attitude Toward Chemistry Scale (ATCS) untuk mengukur sikap siswa terhadap kimia. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan independent sample t-test serta paired sample t-test. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa VRL meningkatkan sikap kimia siswa di kedua kelas. Namun, VRL memberikan pengaruh lebih besar terhadap sikap kimia siswa di kelas eksperimen dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol. Hasil ini menegaskan bahwa VRL berkontribusi secara signifikan untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan sikap kimia siswa pada topik larutan elektrolit dan non-elektrolit, yang memberikan implikasi berharga untuk mengintegrasikan VRL pada siswa SMA. Kata Kunci: virtual reality laboratory, sikap terhadap kimia, elektrolit dan non-elektrolit. *****This study aims to examine the effect of Virtual Reality Laboratory (VRL) on students’ attitudes toward electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions. The research used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, which included a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group. This research employed a purposive sampling technique involving 75 eleventh-grade students from two full classes at a senior high school in East Jakarta during the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. The experimental class used the VRL for learning, while the control class used YouTube videos. The Attitude Toward Chemistry Scale (ATCS) was used to measure students’ attitudes toward chemistry. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, as well as independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test. The results showed that VRL improved students’ attitudes toward chemistry in both classes. However, VRL had a greater impact on students’ attitudes toward chemistry in the experimental class compared to the control class. These results confirm that VRL contributes significantly as a learning tool that can improve students’ attitudes toward chemistry regarding the topic of electrolyte and non-electrolyte solutions, which has valuable implications for integrating VRL into high school education.
