Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis dinamika spasial-temporal stok karbon biomassa atas permukaan (Aboveground Biomass/AGB) ekosistem mangrove di Kawasan Ekowisata Mangrove Karangsong dan Pantai Tiris, Kabupaten Indramayu, periode 2020–2024, menggunakan integrasi data lapangan dan penginderaan jauh berbasis Google Earth Engine (klasifikasi Random Forest pada citra Sentinel-2A; OA 92,1–93,7%, κ 0,896–0,916) dengan model regresi linier NDVI–stok karbon yang menunjukkan hubungan positif (R² 0,693–0,783), yaitu semakin tinggi nilai NDVI yang mengindikasikan tegakan mangrove semakin rapat dan sehat, semakin besar pula stok karbon yang diestimasi. Hasil menunjukkan tutupan mangrove meningkat dari 292,06 ha (2020) menjadi 360,47 ha (2024), atau bertambah 68,41 ha (+23,4%). Rata-rata stok karbon AGB meningkat dari 81,36 tC/ha menjadi 92,35 tC/ha (+19,3%), setara 187,46 tCO₂e/ha, dengan seluruh sepuluh stasiun pemantauan menunjukkan tren peningkatan (laju sekuestrasi rata-rata 3,93 tC/ha/tahun). Analisis spasial mengonfirmasi kedua kawasan berfungsi sebagai net carbon sink, dengan laju sekuestrasi bervariasi antara −20,66 hingga +23,56 tC/ha/tahun tergantung kondisi tegakan dan tekanan lingkungan lokal. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa model rehabilitasi yang dilakukan memberikan dampak positif terukur terhadap perluasan tutupan dan kapasitas penyimpanan karbon AGB mangrove pesisir Indramayu, meskipun nilai ini baru merepresentasikan sebagian dari cadangan karbon ekosistem secara keseluruhan. ***** This study analyzes the spatio-temporal dynamics of aboveground biomass (AGB) carbon stock in the mangrove ecosystems of the Karangsong Mangrove Ecotourism Area and Pantai Tiris, Indramayu Regency, over the period 2020–2024, by integrating field measurements with remote sensing analysis based on Google Earth Engine (Random Forest classification on Sentinel-2A imagery; Overall Accuracy 92.1–93.7%, Kappa 0.896–0.916) and a linear regression model between NDVI and carbon stock that exhibited a positive relationship (R² 0.693–0.783), whereby higher NDVI values—indicating denser and healthier mangrove stands—corresponded to greater estimated carbon stock. The results show that mangrove cover increased from 292.06 ha (2020) to 360.47 ha (2024), an addition of 68.41 ha (+23.4%). The mean AGB carbon stock increased from 81.41 tC/ha to 97.08 tC/ha (+19.3%), equivalent to 187.46 tCO₂e/ha, with all ten monitoring stations exhibiting an increasing trend (mean sequestration rate of 3.93 tC/ha/year). Spatial analysis confirmed that both areas function as net carbon sinks, with sequestration rates ranging from −20.66 to +23.56 tC/ha/year depending on stand condition and local environmental pressures. These findings demonstrate that rehabilitation model have produced measurable positive impacts on the expansion of mangrove cover and AGB carbon storage capacity along the Indramayu coast, although this value represents only a portion of the ecosystem's total carbon reserves.
