Abstract
Produktivitas budidaya rumput laut di Pulau Lancang belum optimal, sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis tingkat kesesuaian perairan Pulau Lancang sebagai lokasi budidaya rumput laut jenis Kappaphycus alvarezii. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitatif dengan pendekatan analisis spasial. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi suhu, oksigen terlarut (DO), pH, salinitas, kecerahan, kedalaman, substrat, dan keterlindungan yang diukur pada 19 stasiun pengamatan. Data bersumber dari hasil olah data lapangan serta penelitian terdahulu yang diolah menggunakan interpolasi Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW), overlay, dan pembobotan skoring. Hasil pembobotan menunjukkan nilai kesesuaian berkisar antara 40 - 92, dengan 10 stasiun termasuk kelas Sesuai (S1) dengan nilai 74 - 92 nilai tertinggi pada Stasiun 2, 14, dan 15 masing-masing 92, 5 stasiun termasuk kelas Cukup Sesuai (S2) dengan nilai 58 - 72, dan 4 stasiun termasuk kelas Tidak Sesuai (N) dengan nilai 40 - 44. Hasil overlay menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar wilayah penelitian berada pada kelas Sesuai (S1) yang membentuk hamparan zona hijau luas di berbagai bagian perairan Pulau Lancang, sedangkan kelas Cukup Sesuai (S2) muncul dalam kantong-kantong sempit dan kelas Tidak Sesuai (N) terlokalisasi pada area terbatas. Parameter berbobot tinggi, yaitu kedalaman, kecerahan, keterlindungan, dan substrat menjadi faktor yang paling menentukan kesesuaian perairan, sedangkan parameter suhu, salinitas, pH, dan DO menunjukkan sebaran relatif seragam. Faktor pembatas utama meliputi substrat karang, kedalaman tinggi 20 - 21 m, kecerahan rendah 13,5 - 15%, dan kondisi tidak terlindung yang menyebabkan nilai kesesuaian rendah pada beberapa stasiun. Secara umum, perairan Pulau Lancang memiliki potensi yang baik untuk pengembangan budidaya rumput laut, dengan prioritas pengembangan pada wilayah yang termasuk kelas Sesuai (S1) serta tetap memperhatikan pengelolaan kualitas perairan dan kondisi setempat. ***** Seaweed aquaculture productivity in Pulau Lancang has not yet reached its optimal potential. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the suitability of the waters surrounding Pulau Lancang for the cultivation of Kappaphycus alvarezii. A quantitative descriptive method with a spatial analysis approach was employed. The analyzed parameters included water temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, salinity, water transparency, depth, substrate, and degree of protection, measured at 19 observation stations. The data were derived from field measurements and previous studies, then processed using Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) interpolation, spatial overlay, and a weighted scoring analysis. The weighted scoring results indicated suitability values ranging from 40 to 92. Ten stations were classified as Highly Suitable (S1), with scores ranging from 74 to 92, the highest score (92) was recorded at Stations 2, 14, and 15. Five stations were categorized as Moderately Suitable (S2), with scores between 58 and 72, while four stations were classified as Not Suitable (N), with scores ranging from 40 to 44. The overlay analysis revealed that most of the study area fell within the Highly Suitable (S1) class, forming extensive green zones across various parts of Pulau Lancang waters. In contrast, the Moderately Suitable (S2) class occurred in relatively small, scattered patches, whereas the Not Suitable (N) class was confined to limited areas. Among the evaluated parameters, those assigned higher weights namely depth, water transparency, degree of protection, and substrate were the primary determinants of overall suitability, while temperature, salinity, pH, and dissolved oxygen exhibited relatively uniform spatial distributions. The main limiting factors included coral-dominated substrates, greater water depths (20–21 m), low water transparency (13.5 - 15%), and exposed conditions with limited protection, all of which contributed to lower suitability scores at several stations. Overall, the waters of Pulau Lancang demonstrate considerable potential for the development of Kappaphycus alvarezii cultivation, with priority given to areas classified as Highly Suitable (S1), while maintaining appropriate water quality management and considering local environmental conditions.
