Abstract

Keselamatan kerja merupakan aspek penting dalam kegiatan operasional terminal kendaraan, terutama pada area blind spot yang memiliki keterbatasan jarak pandang pengemudi sehingga berpotensi menimbulkan kecelakaan kerja maupun tabrakan antar kendaraan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan prototipe sistem peringatan dini berbasis sensor ultrasonik untuk meningkatkan keselamatan kerja pada area blind spot di PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan metode pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Tahap Define dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi literatur, sedangkan tahap Design meliputi perancangan perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak menggunakan sensor ultrasonik A02YYUW V2, mikrokontroler ESP32, relay, lampu rotary, dan sirine buzzer. Tahap Develop dilakukan melalui tiga tahap pengujian disertai evaluasi dan penyempurnaan sistem, sedangkan tahap Disseminate dilakukan melalui penyusunan dokumentasi hasil penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prototipe mengalami peningkatan kinerja pada setiap tahap pengujian hingga seluruh fungsi utama sistem dapat beroperasi sesuai rancangan. Sistem mampu mendeteksi kendaraan pada jarak optimal hingga 4,5 meter serta mengaktifkan lampu rotary dan sirine buzzer secara otomatis sebagai peringatan dini. Berdasarkkan hasil pengujian, prototipe dinyatakan layak sebagai sistem pendukung keselamatan kerja pada area blind spot di terminal kendaraan. Kata Kunci: Blind Spot, Sistem Peringatan Dini, Sensor Ultrasonik, Keselamatan Kerja, Terminal Kendaraan. ***** Workplace safety is a critical aspect of vehicle terminal operations, particularly in blind spots where the driver’s line of sight is limited, potentially leading to workplace accidents or collisions between vehicles. This study aims to develop a prototype earlywarning system based on ultrasonic sensors to improve workplace safety in blind spot areas at PT Indonesia Kendaraan Terminal. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) employing the 4D development method (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The Define phase was conducted through observation, interviews, and a literature review, while the Design phase involved the design of hardware and software using the A02YYUW V2 ultrasonic sensor, an ESP32 microcontroller, a relay, a rotating light, and a buzzer. The Develop stage was carried out through three testing phases accompanied by system evaluation and refinement, while the Disseminate stage involved compiling documentation of the research results. The research results show that the prototype’s performance improved at each testing stage until all the system’s main functions operated as designed. The system is capable of detecting vehicles at an optimal distance of up to 4.5 meters and automatically activating the rotating light and buzzer siren as an early warning. Based on the test results, the prototype was deemed suitable as a system to support workplace safety in blind spots at vehicle terminals.
