Abstract
Kata kunci: career anxiety, future time perspective, perceived social support, mahasiswa tingkat akhir. ***** Technological advancements and globalization in the modern era have significantly impacted competition for jobs, which has led to career anxiety among senior students who are transitioning into the workforce. Future time perspective and perceived social support are assumed to play a role in reducing this career anxiety. This study aims to examine the influence of these two variables on career anxiety among senior students. A non-experimental quantitative approach was used, employing multiple regression analysis. The instruments used in this study were the Career Anxiety Scale (Tsai et al., 2017), the Indonesian Version of the Future Time Perspective Scale (FTP-I) (Medellu, Gumelar, & Maulana, 2020), and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) (Sulistiani, Fajrianthi, & Kristiana, 2022). The study sample consisted of 244 final year students, including 198 women and 46 men. Non-probability convenience sampling was used for sample selection. The results indicate that future time perspective has a significant negative effect on career anxiety (β = -0.509; p < 0.001), whereas perceived social support has no significant effect (β = 0.014; p = 0.815) on career anxiety. The results also indicate that future time perspective and perceived social support simultaneously influence career anxiety among senior undergraduates, accounting for 25.5% of the variance. The findings of this study provide practical implications for educational institutions in designing career planning and career counseling programs to help students develop clear career goals and reduce career anxiety before entering the workforce. Keywords: career anxiety, future time perspective, perceived social support, final year student.
