Abstract

Perselingkuhan merupakan pelanggaran komitmen dalam hubungan romantis yang sering kali didahului oleh intensi untuk berselingkuh. Salah satu faktor yang diperkirakan memengaruhi intensi tersebut adalah kepuasan hubungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kepuasan hubungan terhadap intensi berselingkuh pada dewasa awal berusia 20 hingga 30 tahun yang sedang menjalin hubungan pacaran. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan teknik convenience sampling dan melibatkan 284 partisipan. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner daring menggunakan Relationship Assessment Scale oleh Hendrick (1988) yang telah diadaptasi oleh Sabrina (2025) untuk mengukur kepuasan hubungan dan Intentions Toward Infidelity Scale oleh Jones et al. (2011) yang terlah diadaptasi oleh Ridwan et al. (2026) untuk mengukur intensi berselingkuh. Data dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana dengan bantuan SPSS versi 29. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepuasan hubungan berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap intensi berselingkuh (B = -0,026; R² = 0,051; p < 0,001). Semakin tinggi kepuasan hubungan, semakin rendah intensi berselingkuh. Kepuasan hubungan memberikan kontribusi sebesar 5,1%, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian. Dengan demikian, kepuasan hubungan berperan dalam menurunkan intensi berselingkuh, tetapi bukan satu-satunya faktor penentu. ***** Infidelity is a violation of commitment in romantic relationships that is often preceded by an intention to engage in infidelity. Relationship satisfaction is considered one factor that may influence such intentions. This study aimed to examine the effect of relationship satisfaction on infidelity intentions among young adults aged 20 to 30 years who were currently in dating relationships. This study employed a quantitative approach using convenience sampling and involved 284 participants. Data were collected through an online questionnaire using the Relationship Assessment Scale by Hendrick (1988), which was adapted by Sabrina (2025) to measure relationship satisfaction, and the Intentions Toward Infidelity Scale by Jones et al. (2011), which was adapted by Ridwan et al. (2026) to measure infidelity intentions. The data were analyzed using simple linear regression with SPSS version 29. The results showed that relationship satisfaction had a significant negative effect on infidelity intentions (B = -0.026; R² = 0.051; p < 0.001). Higher relationship satisfaction was associated with lower infidelity intentions. Relationship satisfaction accounted for 5.1% of the variance in infidelity intentions, while the remaining variance was influenced by other factors outside this study. Therefore, relationship satisfaction contributes to reducing infidelity intentions among young adults in dating relationships, although it is not the sole determining factor.
