Abstract
This research aimed to develop an integrated digital ecosystem-based Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) model for the Introduction to Information Technology course, specifically designed for part-time (employee) students. The study addressed the common challenges faced by working students, such as limited face-to-face attendance and high cognitive load. Using the Research and Development (R&D) method, this study integrated the Dick and Carey instructional design model with Zimmerman’s self-regulation cycles. The development resulted in three synchronized components: a Digital Ebook as the content foundation, LMS eCampus for academic management, and a Google Site as a metacognitive dashboard. The formative evaluation results, involving expert reviews and user trials (one-to-one and small group), indicated that the model is "Highly Valid" and "Highly Practical," with average scores exceeding 4.2 out of 5.0. Furthermore, field trials with 20 students demonstrated significant effectiveness. The average student score increased from 34.50 (pre-test) to 77.15 (post-Test), yielding an N-Gain score of 0.669 (high effectiveness category) and N-Gain percent of 66.8991% which is quite high (medium). The average competency achievement reached 85.1%, with students showing improved ability to master complex topics like IoT and Software Engineering autonomously. This research concludes that an integrated digital SRL model provides a strategic solution for employee classes by providing flexible yet structured scaffolding that balances professional responsibilities and academic goals. The success of the implementation of this model is comprehensively supported by 5 phases of learning syntax, namely pre-instructional, assessment, content presentation, student participation, and follow-up which synergize instructional management with the self-regulation cycle from the planning stage to reflection, thereby creating optimal learning independence for students.
