Abstract

Pengembangan pembelajaran bioteknologi menuntut murid tidak hanya menguasai konsep, tetapi juga memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah yang tinggi. Namun, analisis kebutuhan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan tersebut masih rendah dan materi bioteknologi modern sulit dipahami karena bersifat abstrak dan kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan e-modul serta menguji kelayakan dan efektivitasnya. Penelitian Research and Development menggunakan model Hannafin dan Peck menghasilkan e-modul Biotechnology with Problem Based Learning and Augmented Reality (BIOPROBAR). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa e-modul BIOPROBAR yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid berdasarkan penilaian ahli materi, media, dan bahasa. E-modul BIOPROBAR juga dinyatakan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran bioteknologi modern serta praktis berdasarkan respons pengguna terhadap kemudahan penggunaan dan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran. Selain itu, terdapat perbedaan secara signifikan sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan e-modul BIOPROBAR berdasarkan hasil uji non-parametrik (Uji Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test), yang membuktikan bahwa e-modul berpotensi meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah murid dengan nilai N-Gain yang termasuk dalam kategori tinggi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa e-modul BIOPROBAR berpotensi digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran bioteknologi modern untuk mendukung peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah murid. Pengembangan dan pengujian lebih lanjut pada sampel yang lebih luas serta penyempurnaan fitur Augmented Reality diperlukan untuk memperkuat pemanfaatannya. ***** The development of biotechnology learning requires students to master concepts and develop strong problem-solving skills. However, a needs analysis revealed that students’ problem-solving abilities remain low, and modern biotechnology topics are difficult to understand due to their abstract and complex nature. This study aimed to develop an e-module and evaluate its feasibility and effectiveness. A Research and Development (R&D) study using the Hannafin and Peck model resulted in the development of the Biotechnology with Problem Based Learning and Augmented Reality (BIOPROBAR) e-module. The results showed that the BIOPROBAR e-module met validity criteria based on assessments from material, media, and language experts. The e-module was considered feasible and practical for modern biotechnology learning based on user responses regarding usability and learning implementation. Furthermore, statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test showed a significant difference between students’ abilities before and after using the BIOPROBAR e-module. The N-Gain score indicated a high category, demonstrating its potential to improve students’ problem-solving skills. These findings suggest that the BIOPROBAR e-module can be used as an alternative learning medium for modern biotechnology. Further research with larger samples and improvements to the Augmented Reality features are recommended to enhance its effectiveness and broader implementation.
