Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi dan prinsip kesantunan dalam caption Instagram Maria Teresa Suhardja sebagai anggota DPRD Kota Tangerang Selatan. Pendekatan pragmatik digunakan dengan menerapkan model analisis integratif yang menggabungkan teori strategi kesantunan Brown dan Levinson, prinsip kesantunan Leech, serta Prinsip Saling Tenggang Rasa (PSTR) Aminuddin Aziz. Data penelitian berupa 50 unit tuturan tertulis yang dipilih secara bertujuan berdasarkan potensi tindakan mengancam muka dan implikasi kausalitas rasa. Tahapan analisis data berfokus pada identifikasi tindak tutur, klasifikasi strategi penyelamatan muka, kesesuaian maksim sosial, hingga implikasi hukum kausalitas serta nilai PSTR pada tuturan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa cara berkomunikasi penutur didominasi oleh perpaduan antara strategi kesantunan positif untuk mendekatkan diri dengan masyarakat dan kesantunan negatif untuk menghormati kebebasan serta privasi warga. Pada prinsip kesantunan Leech, kepatuhan penutur didominasi oleh maksim pujian melalui pemberian apresiasi yang tulus kepada pihak lain, serta maksim rendah hati dengan cara berbicara bersahaja tanpa menyombongkan jabatan. Sementara itu, penerapan PSTR tercermin melalui dominasi nilai daya sanjung untuk menjaga perasaan konstituen serta nilai berbagi rasa untuk menempatkan diri dalam suka dan duka masyarakat. Hasil ini menegaskan relevansi integrasi teori kesantunan universal dan perspektif lokal dalam membedah dinamika komunikasi politik digital di Indonesia yang fleksibel, etis, dan responsif. ***** This study examines politeness strategies and principles in the Instagram captions of Maria Teresa Suhardja as a member of the South Tangerang Regional Legislative Council (DPRD). A pragmatic approach is applied using an integrative analysis model that combines Brown and Levinson's politeness strategies, Leech's politeness principles, and Aminuddin Aziz's Principle of Mutual Consideration (PSTR). The research data consists of 50 written speech units selected purposively based on their potential for face-threatening acts and the implications of emotional causality. The data analysis stages focus on identifying speech acts, classifying face-saving strategies, assessing compliance with social maxims, and examining the implications of causal laws and PSTR values within the utterances. The results indicate that the speaker's communication method is dominated by a blend of positive politeness strategies to build closeness with the community and negative politeness strategies to respect the freedom and privacy of citizens. Regarding Leech's politeness principles, compliance is dominated by the approbation maxim through offering sincere appreciation to other parties, and the modesty maxim by speaking humbly without boasting about political status. Meanwhile, the application of PSTR is reflected through the dominance of the praising value to protect the feelings of constituents and the sympathy-sharing value to empathize with the joys and sorrows of the community. These findings confirm the relevance of integrating universal politeness theories and local perspectives in dissecting the dynamics of digital political communication in Indonesia, which is flexible, ethical, and responsive.
