Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning terhadap pengembangan disposisi berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Medan Elektromagnetika di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Elektronika Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain one group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 37 mahasiswa yang mengikuti mata kuliah Medan Elektromagnetika pada semester 124 tahun akademik 2025/2026. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket disposisi berpikir kritis yang disusun berdasarkan tujuh indikator, yaitu pencarian kebenaran, berpikir terbuka, analitis, sistematis, keyakinan dalam menggunakan penalaran, keingintahuan, dan kedewasaan dalam mengambil keputusan. Sebelum digunakan pada sampel penelitian utama, instrumen diuji coba kepada 37 mahasiswa yang telah menyelesaikan mata kuliah Medan Elektromagnetika. Uji validitas dilakukan menggunakan korelasi Pearson Product Moment, sedangkan uji reliabilitas dilakukan menggunakan koefisien Cronbach’s Alpha. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk dilakukan terhadap skor selisih antara skor akhir dan skor awal sebagai uji prasyarat sebelum pelaksanaan paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata skor awal disposisi berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Medan Elektromagnetika sebesar 84,05 dan meningkat menjadi 96,70 pada skor akhir. Hasil paired sample t-test menunjukkan nilai t-hitung sebesar -6,4051 dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,0000. Nilai signifikansi tersebut lebih kecil dari 0,05, sehingga terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor disposisi berpikir kritis mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah mengikuti pembelajaran Problem Based Learning pada mata kuliah Medan Elektromagnetika. Berdasarkan hasil analisis setiap indikator, terdapat lima indikator yang menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan, yaitu pencarian kebenaran, berpikir terbuka, sistematis, keyakinan dalam menggunakan penalaran, dan kedewasaan dalam mengambil keputusan. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning berpengaruh terhadap pengembangan disposisi berpikir kritis mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Medan Elektromagnetika di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Elektronika Universitas Negeri Jakarta. ***** This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem-Based Learning model on the development of students’ critical thinking dispositions in the Electromagnetic Fields course at the Electronic Engineering Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. This study employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group beginning score-final score design. The research sample consisted of 37 students enrolled in the Electromagnetic Fields course during Semester 124 of the 2025/2026 academic year. The research instrument was a critical thinking disposition questionnaire developed based on seven indicators, namely truth-seeking, open-mindedness, analyticity, systematicity, confidence in reasoning, inquisitiveness, and maturity of judgment. Before being administered to the main research sample, the instrument was pilot-tested on 37 students from a previous cohort who had completed the Electromagnetic Fields course. Instrument validity was examined using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation, while reliability was evaluated using the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient. The data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test was performed on the difference scores between the final score and beginning score as a prerequisite for conducting the paired-samples t-test. The results showed that the mean beginning score score of students’ critical thinking dispositions in the Electromagnetic Fields course was 84.05, which increased to 96.70 in the final score. The paired-samples t-test produced a calculated t-value of -6.4051 with a significance value of 0.0000. Since the significance value was lower than 0.05, there was a significant difference between students’ critical thinking disposition scores before and after participating in Problem-Based Learning in the Electromagnetic Fields course. The analysis of each indicator showed significant differences in five indicators, namely truth-seeking, open-mindedness, systematicity, confidence in reasoning, and maturity of judgment. Therefore, the Problem-Based Learning model had a significant effect on the development of students’ critical thinking dispositions in the Electromagnetic Fields course at the Electronic Engineering Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Jakarta.
