Abstract

Masa remaja merupakan periode perkembangan yang ditandai oleh perubahan biologis, psikologis, dan sosial yang menyebabkan perhatian terhadap penampilan fisik semakin meningkat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penggunaan kosmetik dekoratif terhadap kepercayaan diri remaja putri pada lingkungan sekolah yang menerapkan pembatasan penggunaan kosmetik. Pendekatan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 202 siswi kelas XI SMAN 1 Karawang dengan sampel sebanyak 135 responden yang ditentukan menggunakan rumus Slovin. Pengumpulan data dilakukan secara daring menggunakan kuesioner berskala Likert, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear sederhana, uji t, dan koefisien determinasi. Hasil analisis regresi menghasilkan persamaan Y = 6,687 + 0,640X, dengan koefisien regresi sebesar 0,640 yang menunjukkan arah pengaruh positif. Nilai t hitung sebesar 18,123 dengan signifikansi 0,000 (< 0,05) membuktikan Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Penggunaan kosmetik dekoratif memberikan kontribusi sebesar 71,2% terhadap kepercayaan diri siswi, sedangkan 28,8% sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa penggunaan kosmetik dekoratif secara nyata berperan dalam meningkatkan kepercayaan diri remaja putri meskipun berada di lingkungan sekolah yang menerapkan pembatasan. **** Adolescence is a developmental period marked by biological, psychological, and social changes that lead to an increased focus on physical appearance. This study aims to analyze the effect of decorative cosmetics usage on the self-confidence of adolescent girls in a school environment that enforces restrictions on cosmetic use. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed in this research. The population consisted of 202 eleventh-grade female students at SMAN 1 Karawang, with a sample of 135 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected online using a Likert-scale questionnaire and subsequently analyzed using simple linear regression, a t-test, and the coefficient of determination. The regression analysis yielded the equation Y = 6.687 + 0.640X, with a regression coefficient of 0.640 indicating a positive direction of influence. A calculated t-value of 18.123 with a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05) confirmed that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. The use of decorative cosmetics contributed 71.2% to the students' self-confidence, while the remaining 28.8% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study. In conclusion, the use of decorative cosmetics plays a significant role in enhancing the self-confidence of adolescent girls, even within a school environment that implements restrictions.
