Abstract

*** This study aims to obtain the results of a quality test on textile composites produced from the processing of production fabric waste using the Fabric Manipulation technique in the form of Quilting, applied to vest products. The research method employed is quantitative pre experimental with a one-shot case study design, implemented through several stages: selecting production fabric waste, arranging the textile composite (patchwork fabric), and proceeding through the design, pattern-making, sewing, and finishing processes of five vest products. The data collection technique used in this study is testing conducted by five expert panelists using a mixed questionnaire (open and closed) measured with a Rating Scale based on the product quality dimensions according to Kotler & Keller (2012), which include the indicators of form, features, durability, style, and design. The results of the study show that all aspects fall into the very good category. The design indicator obtained the highest score with a percentage of 86.5%, indicating the successful combination of decorative lines, shapes, and colors of the textile composite in creating a harmonious and characterful appearance. In contrast, the durability indicator obtained the lowest score of 80.1%, due to the use of tulle fabric as a lining material for the textile composite, which was considered still less than optimal in terms of strength and resistance to long-term use. Of the five designs tested, Design 2 achieved the highest score of 84.7% because it produced a neat quilting arrangement, an even raised texture, and optimal processing of production fabric waste without compromising the aesthetic quality of the garment. Conversely, Design 1 obtained the lowest score of 81.7%, as its results were still less than optimal in terms of style and the size proportion of the patchwork fabric pieces.
