Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan instrumen Multiple Choice Complex (MCC) untuk mengukur pemahaman konseptual siswa pada materi asam basa. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh keterbatasan soal pilihan ganda konvensional dalam mengungkap pemahaman konseptual secara mendalam pada materi asam basa yang rentan terhadap miskonsepsi. Instrumen dikembangkan berdasarkan Indikator Ketercapaian Tujuan Pembelajaran (IKTP) Kurikulum Merdeka, tiga level representasi kimia Johnstone, serta distraktor berbasis miskonsepsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) yang diadaptasi dari model Haladyna dan Rodriguez (2013), meliputi studi pendahuluan, penyusunan blueprint dan 28 butir soal, validasi isi oleh tiga pakar menggunakan indeks Aiken's V, revisi instrumen, uji coba terbatas pada 62 siswa kelas XII SMA Negeri 48 Jakarta, serta analisis kualitas empiris menggunakan Rasch Partial Credit Model (PCM) melalui perangkat lunak jMetrik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata indeks Aiken's V sebesar 0,833. Setelah dilakukan analisis empiris dan penyesuaian kategori skor sesuai prosedur Rasch, diperoleh 20 butir utama yang memenuhi kriteria kesesuaian model dengan item reliability sebesar 0,83 dan person reliability sebesar 0,76, serta 8 butir cadangan yang memenuhi validitas isi. Dengan demikian, instrumen MCC yang dikembangkan layak digunakan sebagai alternatif instrumen penilaian untuk mengukur pemahaman konseptual siswa pada materi asam basa. ***** This study aimed to develop a Multiple-Choice Complex (MCC) assessment instrument to measure students' conceptual understanding of acid–base concepts. The study was motivated by the limitations of conventional multiple-choice tests in assessing conceptual understanding of acid–base concepts, which are prone to misconceptions. The instrument was developed based on the Learning Outcome Achievement Indicators (IKTP) of the Merdeka Curriculum, Johnstone's three levels of chemical representation, and misconception-based distractors. This Research and Development (R&D) study, adapted from Haladyna and Rodriguez (2013), involved a preliminary study, blueprint development, construction of 28 items, content validation by three experts using Aiken's V, instrument revision, a limited field trial involving 62 twelfth-grade students at SMA Negeri 48 Jakarta, and empirical analysis using the Rasch Partial Credit Model (PCM) with jMetrik software. The average Aiken's V index was 0.833. Following category collapsing in accordance with Rasch procedures, all 20 main items met the PCM model-fit criteria (item reliability = 0.83; person reliability = 0.76), while the remaining eight reserve items demonstrated satisfactory content validity. The developed MCC instrument is suitable as an alternative assessment instrument for measuring students' conceptual understanding of acid–base concepts.
