Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) berbantuan kartu soal berlevel terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 82 Jakarta. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi experiment dengan desain posttest only control group. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan cluster random sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas VII-6 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan berupa model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) berbantuan kartu soal berlevel, sedangkan kelas VII-4 sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis diukur dengan instrumen tes yang terdiri dari empat soal uraian pada materi kesebangunan yang telah dinyatakan valid dan reliabel. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian prasyarat analisis data setelah perlakuan, hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berdistribusi normal dan bersifat homogen. Pengujian hipotesis statistik menggunakan uji-t dengan taraf signifikansi 5%, menunjukkan t_{hitung}=1,90 lebih besar dari t_{(0,95;70)}= 1,67 sehingga sudah cukup bukti untuk menolak H_{0}. Artinya rata-rata kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa pada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa pada kelas kontrol. Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) berbantuan kartu soal berlevel terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 82 Jakarta. Berdasarkan Cohen’s Effect Size diketahui besar pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) berbantuan kartu soal berlevel terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa adalah sebesar 0,447 yang termasuk ke dalam kategori kecil. ***** This study aimed to determine the effect of the Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) cooperative learning model assisted by leveled task cards on the mathematical problem-solving ability of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 82 Jakarta. This study employed a quasi-experimental method using a posttest-only control group design. The sampling technique used in this study was cluster random sampling, through which Class VII-6 was selected as the experimental group and received the Rotating Trio Exchange (RTE) cooperative learning model assisted by leveled question cards, while Class VII-4 was selected as the control group and received conventional instruction. Students' mathematical problem-solving ability was measured using a test instrument consisting of four essay questions on the topic of similarity, which had been validated and confirmed to be reliable. Based on the prerequisite tests for data analysis, the posttest scores of both the experimental and control groups were normally distributed and homogeneous. The hypothesis was tested using an independent-samples t-test at a 5% significance level. The results showed that t_{hitung}=1,90 greater than t_{(0,95;70)}= 1.67, providing sufficient evidence to reject H_{0}. This indicates that the average mathematical problem-solving ability of students in the experimental group was higher than that of students in the control group. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Rotating Trio Exchange cooperative learning model assisted by leveled task cards had a significant effect on the mathematical problem-solving ability of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 82 Jakarta. Furthermore, based on Cohen's Effect Size, the effect size was 0.447, which falls into the small category.
