Abstract
Helical blade merupakan komponen berbentuk spiral yang banyak digunakan pada berbagai peralatan industri seperti extruder, bor tanah, pompa fluida kental, dan screw conveyor. Proses pembuatannya umumnya memerlukan mesin khusus yang mahal serta operator terampil, sehingga menjadi kendala bagi industri kecil dan menengah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan membuat alat press hidraulik sederhana yang mampu membentuk Helical blade sesuai kebutuhan, serta memastikan konstruksi rangka mampu menahan gaya tekan selama proses. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan rekayasa teknik yang meliputi studi literatur, analisis kebutuhan, perancangan dengan Autodesk Inventor, analisis kekuatan struktur menggunakan Finite Element Analysis (FEA), fabrikasi, dan pengujian alat. Alat menggunakan dongkrak hidraulik berkapasitas 15 ton dengan rangka berbahan baja ASTM A36. Hasil analisis menunjukkan tegangan maksimum sebesar 4,2 MPa dengan safety factor hingga 15, serta komponen lain memiliki safety factor di atas 5, sehingga aman terhadap batas luluh material. Gaya tekan yang dibutuhkan untuk membentuk plat 3 mm sebesar 93 kN atau 19 ton masih berada dalam kapasitas alat. Pengujian membuktikan alat mampu menghasilkan Helical blade dengan baik, presisi, dan tanpa kegagalan struktur. Kata Kunci: Alat press hidraulik , ASTM A36, Finite Element Analysis, Helical blade, rancang bangun ***** Helical blades are spiral-shaped components widely used in various industrial applications such as extruders, earth Augers, high-viscosity fluid pumps, and screw conveyors. The manufacturing process generally requires specialized and expensive machinery as well as skilled operators, which poses challenges for small and medium-scale industries. Therefore, this study aims to design and develop a simple hydraulic press capable of forming Helical blades according to requirements, while ensuring that the frame construction can withstand the applied forming forces. The research method follows an engineering approach, including literature study, needs analysis, conceptual design using Autodesk Inventor, structural strength analysis using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), fabrication, and performance testing. The press utilizes a 15-ton hydraulic bottle jack as the main force source, with a frame constructed from ASTM A36 steel. The results show that the maximum von Mises stress is 4.2 MPa with a safety factor up to 15, while other components have safety factors above 5, indicating that the structure is safe under the material’s yield strength. The required forming force for a 3 mm steel plate is 93 kN (9.3 tons), which is within the capacity of the hydraulic system. Testing results demonstrate that the press can successfully produce Helical blades with good precision, consistency, and without structural failure.
