Abstract

Kecepatan putar motor merupakan salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi kualitas hasil penggerindaan pada mesin gerinda duduk. Perubahan beban selama proses penggerindaan dapat menyebabkan fluktuasi putaran sehingga diperlukan sistem kendali yang mampu menjaga kestabilan RPM. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang dan mengimplementasikan sistem kendali kecepatan putar motor AC menggunakan Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) Controller pada mesin gerinda duduk dengan setpoint 2500 RPM. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian rancang bangun yang meliputi perancangan sistem, perakitan perangkat, pemrograman, pengujian, tuning PID, dan evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem kendali berbasis ESP32, sensor infrared, AC Light Dimmer, dan sensor suhu MAX6675 berhasil diimplementasikan serta mampu menjaga kecepatan putar motor tetap stabil pada setpoint 2500 RPM. Parameter PID optimum yang diperoleh melalui metode trial and error adalah Kp = 3, Ki = 0,6, dan Kd = 0,5. Selain itu, sistem proteksi suhu mampu menghentikan operasi motor secara otomatis ketika suhu melebihi batas yang ditentukan, sehingga meningkatkan keamanan dan keandalan pengoperasian mesin gerinda duduk. Kata kunci: mesin gerinda duduk, motor AC, PID Controller, ESP32, kendali kecepatan putar. *****Motor rotational Speed is one of the key factors affecting the quality of the grinding process on a bench grinder. Variations in the applied load during grinding can cause fluctuations in motor Speed, resulting in inconsistent grinding quality. This study aims to design and implement an AC motor Speed control system using a Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controller on a bench grinder to maintain a constant rotational Speed at a setpoint of 2500 RPM. The research employed a research and development approach, consisting of system design, hardware assembly, programming, testing, PID tuning, and system evaluation. The results indicate that the control system, which integrates an ESP32 microcontroller, an infrared sensor, an AC Light Dimmer, and a MAX6675 temperature sensor, was successfully implemented and effectively maintained the motor Speed at the 2500 RPM setpoint. The optimum PID parameters obtained through the trial-and-error tuning method were Kp = 3, Ki = 0.6, and Kd = 0.5. In addition, the temperature protection system automatically stopped the motor operation when the temperature exceeded the predetermined limit, thereby improving the safety and reliability of the bench grinder operation.
