Abstract

This demands the availability of media that not only digitize text but can also stimulate independence and active student involvement. This study presents a physics e-module on thermodynamics, based on problem-based learning and equipped with higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) questions, to support the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in high schools. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the Dick and Carey Development model. To maintain the quality of the HOTS evaluation instrument, its validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminative power were assessed. Validation by three experts indicated that this e-module is highly feasible, with an average score of 89%. The results of the e-module trial showed positive responses from educators and students regarding the ease of access and use, as well as the clarity of the e-module material. This study concludes that this e-module is very suitable for use in the physics learning process and provides a variation in the use of physics learning media, especially for abstract materials such as Thermodynamics.
