Abstract
***** This mixed-methods study, employing a sequential embedded comparative design across three vocational high schools, analyzed the profile of technology acceptance of BIM based on Autodesk Revit among DPIB students using an integrated TAM and TOE framework. Results from the TAM dimension indicate that students’ perceptions of BIM’s career utility are very high, but their perceptions of ease of use are very low due to a steep learning curve and hardware constraints, which in turn reduce students’ attitudes and intentions to use the technology. Evaluation of the TOE dimension revealed organizational barriers in the form of a shortage of laboratory facilities, forcing a BYOD policy that places a burden on students. In the environmental dimension, regulatory discordance was found between BIM curriculum requirements and the National Competency Standards for Graduation (SKKNI), which still rely on 2D methods (AutoCAD). This regulatory misalignment, coupled with varying industry demands (DUDI), legitimizes students’ resistance to prioritizing BIM. Ultimately, institutional structural barriers (TOE) have a strong causal impact on eroding students’ psychological acceptance and intention to adopt the technology (TAM).
