Abstract

Perbandingan sosial merupakan salah satu faktor yang dapat memengaruhi kesejahteraan mahasiswa melalui Fear of Missing Out (FoMO). Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis hubungan antara perbandingan sosial, FoMO, kesejahteraan finansial, dan kesejahteraan psikologis mahasiswa serta menguji perbedaan hubungan antarvariabel berdasarkan jenis kelamin menggunakan Multigroup Structural Equation Modeling (MGSEM). Penelitian dilakukan terhadap 300 mahasiswa Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang dipilih menggunakan multistage stratified random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) dengan estimator Weighted Least Squares Mean and Variance Adjusted (WLSMV). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model SEM yang diusulkan memiliki tingkat kesesuaian (goodness of fit) yang baik. Perbandingan sosial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap FoMO serta berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan finansial. FoMO berpengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan finansial dan kesejahteraan psikologis, sedangkan kesejahteraan finansial berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis. Pengaruh langsung perbandingan sosial terhadap kesejahteraan psikologis tidak signifikan. Selain itu, FoMO berperan sebagai mediator pada hubungan antara perbandingan sosial dan kesejahteraan finansial, sedangkan hubungan antara perbandingan sosial dan kesejahteraan psikologis dimediasi secara berurutan oleh FoMO dan kesejahteraan finansial. Hasil pengujian invariansi menunjukkan bahwa model pengukuran dan model struktural bersifat invarian pada kelompok laki-laki dan perempuan. ***** Social comparison is one of the factors that may influence students well-being through Fear of Missing Out (FoMO). This study aimed to examine the relationships among social comparison, FoMO, financial well-being, and psychological well-being, as well as to investigate whether these relationships differ by gender using Multigroup Structural Equation Modeling (MGSEM). The study involved 300 students from Universitas Negeri Jakarta selected through multistage stratified random sampling. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with the Weighted Least Squares Mean and Variance Adjusted (WLSMV) estimator. The results indicated that the proposed SEM demonstrated a good model fit. Social comparison had a positive and significant effect on FoMO and a negative and significant effect on financial well-being. FoMO had significant negative effects on both financial well-being and psychological well-being, whereas financial well-being had a positive and significant effect on psychological well-being. The direct effect of social comparison on psychological well-being was not significant. Furthermore, FoMO mediated the relationship between social comparison and financial well-being, while the relationship between social comparison and psychological well-being was serially mediated by FoMO and financial well-being. The results of the invariance testing indicated that both the measurement and structural models were invariant across male and female groups.
