Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji representasi fenomena Burakku Kigyou (Black Company) dalam anime Jepang Aggretsuko Season 1 karya Rarecho, yang diproduksi oleh studio Fanworks berlisensi Sanrio. Fenomena Burakku Kigyou merujuk pada praktik eksploitasi tenaga kerja yang berbenturan dengan citra ideal disiplin dan harmoni dalam budaya kerja Jepang. Penelitian ini berfokus pada penokohan Retsuko dan Direktur Ton, bentuk representasi Burakku Kigyou, serta benturan nilai budaya dan nilai profesional dalam sistem kerja yang digambarkan. Tujuannya adalah mendeskripsikan penokohan kedua tokoh tersebut, mendeskripsikan bentuk representasi Burakku Kigyou, dan menganalisis benturan nilai yang terjadi. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan analisis isi melalui pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Data primer berupa seluruh sepuluh episode Season 1, dikumpulkan dengan teknik simak-catat, kemudian dianalisis melalui reduksi data, kategorisasi berdasarkan empat indikator Konno (2012), serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menemukan 16 data representasi Burakku Kigyou dengan dominasi manipulasi kontrak kerja, sementara indikator perputaran karyawan tidak ditemukan secara eksplisit. Retsuko digambarkan sebagai round character dan developing character yang merepresentasikan sisi korban, sedangkan Direktur Ton sebagai flat character dan static character yang merepresentasikan sisi pelaku penyimpangan. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa Aggretsuko Season 1 berfungsi sebagai cermin sekaligus kritik sosial terhadap budaya kerja eksploitatif di Jepang. ***** This study examines the representation of the Burakku Kigyou (black company) phenomenon in the Japanese anime Aggretsuko Season 1, directed by Rarecho and produced by Fanworks under license from Sanrio. Burakku Kigyou refers to exploitative labor practices that clash with the idealized image of discipline and harmony in Japanese work culture. The research focuses on the characterization of Retsuko and Director Ton, the forms of Burakku Kigyou representation, and the clash between cultural and professional values in the depicted workplace, aiming to describe both characterizations, describe the representation, and analyze the resulting value conflict. A descriptive qualitative method with content analysis was applied through a sociological literary approach. Primary data comprised all ten episodes of Season 1, collected via observation and note-taking, then analyzed through data reduction, categorization based on Konno's (2012) four indicators, and conclusion drawing. The findings identified 16 data points representing Burakku Kigyou, dominated by contract manipulation, while turnover was not explicitly found. Retsuko is portrayed as a round, developing character representing the victim, whereas Director Ton is a flat, static character representing the perpetrator. The study concludes that Aggretsuko Season 1 functions as both a mirror and a social critique of Japan's exploitative work culture.
