Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh strategi Meta-Comprehension terhadap kemampuan pemahaman bacaan bahasa Arab siswa kelas VIII-B MTs Persis 69 Matraman, serta untuk menghasilkan data empiris mengenai efektivitas strategi tersebut dalam meningkatkan pemahaman harfiah, inferensial, evaluatif, dan kreatif terhadap teks berbahasa Arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen, tepatnya Pre-Experimental Design berbentuk One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, tanpa kelompok kontrol. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 15 siswa kelas VIII-B yang diberikan pre-test sebelum perlakuan dan post-test setelah empat kali pertemuan penerapan strategi Meta-Comprehension. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pilihan ganda yang telah diuji validitasnya (17 dari 20 butir valid) dan reliabilitasnya (KR-20 = 0,960). Pengumpulan data dianalisis menggunakan uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk, statistik deskriptif, perhitungan N-Gain, serta uji hipotesis Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa data pre-test tidak berdistribusi normal, sehingga digunakan uji non-parametrik. Rata-rata skor meningkat dari 8,40 (pre-test) menjadi 13,13 (post-test), dengan rata-rata N-Gain sebesar 0,5732 (kategori sedang). Hasil uji Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test menunjukkan nilai Z = -3,472 dan Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,001 (< 0,05), sehingga H0 ditolak. Dengan demikian, strategi Meta-Comprehension memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemahaman bacaan bahasa Arab siswa. ***** This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of the Meta-Comprehension strategy on Arabic reading comprehension among eighth-grade students (class VIII-B) at MTs Persis 69 Matraman, as well as to generate empirical data on the strategy's effectiveness in enhancing literal, inferential, evaluative, and creative comprehension of Arabic texts. This research employs a quantitative approach with an experimental method, specifically a Pre-Experimental Design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design, without a control group. The research subjects consisted of 15 students from class VIII-B, who were given a pre-test before treatment and a post-test after four meetings implementing the Meta-Comprehension strategy. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test that had been tested for validity (17 of 20 items valid) and reliability (KR-20 = 0.960). Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, descriptive statistics, N-Gain calculation, and the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test. The results showed that the pre-test data were not normally distributed, so a non-parametric test was applied. The average score increased from 8.40 (Pre-Test) to 13.13 (post-test), with an average N-Gain of 0.5732 (medium category). The Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test yielded Z = -3.472 and Asymp. Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.001 (< 0.05), leading to the rejection of H0. Thus, the Meta-Comprehension strategy has a significant influence on improving students' Arabic reading comprehension.
