Abstract
***** Geometric thinking is the ability to understand geometric elements such as points, lines, angles, and the properties of shapes, as well as the relationships between shapes, thereby enabling students to develop spatial thinking, engage in deductive reasoning, and draw conclusions and solve geometric problems accurately and logically. This study aims to investigate the impact of the Guided Discovery Learning (GDL) model, supported by manipulative media, on the geometric thinking skills of elementary school students, taking into account differences in students’ self-efficacy levels. An experimental method with a posttest-only control group design was used, employing cluster random sampling to select a sample of 124 students. The research instrument consisted of a geometric thinking ability test that had been validated by expert faculty members and subsequently tested for validity and reliability using the Jamovi application. The results of the ANOVA test showed a significant difference in geometric thinking ability between the experimental group and the control group. The findings indicate that the GDL model supported by manipulative media significantly enhances the geometric thinking ability of elementary school students, proving to be more effective than the expository model.
