Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa Alat Peraga Katrol Mini yang terdiri atas tiga jenis katrol, yaitu katrol tetap, katrol bergerak, dan katrol majemuk, pada topik energi potensial untuk siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar serta mengetahui kelayakan media yang dikembangkan. Penelitian dilatarbelakangi oleh kesulitan peserta didik dalam memahami konsep energi potensial yang bersifat abstrak. Penelitian menggunakan metode Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate) yang dikemukakan oleh Thiagarajan. Tahap define dilakukan melalui analisis kebutuhan, karakteristik peserta didik, konsep, tugas, dan tujuan pembelajaran. Tahap design dilakukan dengan merancang Alat Peraga Katrol Mini beserta perangkat pendukungnya. Tahap develop meliputi validasi oleh ahli materi dan ahli media serta uji coba one to one dan small group untuk memperoleh masukan dalam penyempurnaan produk. Tahap disseminate dilakukan melalui penyebarluasan produk secara terbatas kepada guru kelas IV SDN Ciparigi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Alat Peraga Katrol Mini yang terdiri atas tiga jenis katrol, yaitu katrol tetap, katrol bergerak, dan katrol majemuk, dinyatakan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli dan uji coba kepada peserta didik. Media yang dikembangkan membantu peserta didik memahami konsep energi potensial melalui visualisasi yang lebih konkret sehingga dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran IPAS bagi siswa kelas IV Sekolah Dasar. Kata Kunci: Pengembangan, Media Pembelajaran, Alat Peraga Katrol Mini, Energi Potensial, IPAS. ***** This study aimed to develop a learning medium in the form of a Mini Pulley Teaching Aid consisting of three types of pulleys, namely fixed, movable, and compound pulleys, on the topic of potential energy for fourth-grade elementary school students and to determine the feasibility of the developed medium. The study was motivated by students' difficulties in understanding the abstract concept of potential energy. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) proposed by Thiagarajan. The define stage involved analyzing needs, learner characteristics, concepts, tasks, and learning objectives. The design stage focused on designing the Mini Pulley Teaching Aid and its supporting materials. The develop stage included validation by material and media experts as well as one-to-one and small-group trials to obtain feedback for product improvement. The disseminate stage was carried out through limited dissemination of the product to the fourth-grade teacher at SDN Ciparigi. The results showed that the Mini Pulley Teaching Aid consisting of fixed, movable, and compound pulleys was feasible for use as a learning medium based on expert validation and student trials. The developed medium helped students understand the concept of potential energy through more concrete visualization and can be used as an alternative learning medium for science instruction in fourth-grade elementary school.
