Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penerapan metode latihan terstruktur terhadap peningkatan kemampuan bermusik band Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) Alfa Omega Cimanggis. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan mixed methods dengan desain explanatory sequential. Tahap kuantitatif menggunakan metode quasi-experimental dengan desain one-group pretest–posttest, sedangkan tahap kualitatif dilakukan melalui wawancara untuk menjelaskan hasil kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas enam anggota band gereja yang dipilih menggunakan teknik total sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner skala Likert lima poin yang mengukur enam indikator kemampuan bermusik. Data kuantitatif dianalisis menggunakan uji Paired Sample t-Test, sedangkan data kualitatif dianalisis secara tematik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara skor pre-test dan post-test (Sig. = 0,236 > 0,05), sehingga penerapan metode latihan terstruktur belum terbukti berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan kemampuan bermusik band gereja. Meskipun demikian, nilai effect size (Cohen's d = 0,549) yang termasuk kategori sedang serta hasil wawancara menunjukkan adanya manfaat praktis dan kecenderungan peningkatan kemampuan bermusik setelah penerapan metode latihan terstruktur. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa metode latihan terstruktur berpotensi mendukung peningkatan kemampuan bermusik band gereja, meskipun diperlukan penelitian lanjutan dengan jumlah sampel yang lebih besar untuk memperoleh hasil yang lebih kuat. ***** This study aimed to examine the effect of implementing a structured practice method on improving the musical performance skills of the band at Gereja Bethel Indonesia (GBI) Alfa Omega Cimanggis. The study employed a mixed methods approach using an explanatory sequential design. The quantitative phase applied a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design, while the qualitative phase consisted of interviews to explain the quantitative findings. The participants were six church band members selected through a total sampling technique. The research instrument was a five-point Likert scale questionnaire measuring six indicators of musical performance skills. Quantitative data were analyzed using a Paired Sample t-Test, while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The results showed no statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores (Sig. = 0.236 > 0.05), indicating that the implementation of the structured practice method did not have a statistically significant effect on improving the musical performance skills of the church band. Nevertheless, the effect size (Cohen's d = 0.549), which was classified as a medium effect, along with the interview findings, indicated practical benefits and a tendency toward improved musical performance skills following the implementation of the structured practice method. These findings suggest that the structured practice method has the potential to support the improvement of church band musical performance skills, although further research involving a larger sample is needed to obtain more robust findings.
