Abstract

This final project report showcases the results and analysis of a translation for two collections of children’s stories, the book “Kumpulan Cerita Anak: Gara-Gara Nama” (Collection of Children’s Stories: Because of that Name) published in 2004, authored by Benny Rhamdani, and illustrated by Gegen Noviara, as well as the book “Kumpulan Cerita Anak: Tendangan Lintang” (Collection of Children’s Stories: Lintang’s Kick) published in 2005, authored by Hikmat Sudjana, and illustrated by Zufri, both published by DAR! Mizan. This report features a rendering of the books’ Indonesian text into English that preserves some Indonesian cultural elements that are not shared with native English-speaking cultures, with explanations for the translation techniques that were chosen for their respective paragraphs in the form of annotated translations.
