Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Bayu (PLTB) tipe horizontal dengan kapasitas daya 400 Watt, serta mengetahui kinerja PLTB berdasarkan kecepatan angin, putaran turbin, dan daya listrik yang dihasilkan. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode rekayasa teknik dengan model forward engineering, yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, analisis, perancangan, pembuatan, dan penerapan. Pengujian dilakukan dengan mengukur kecepatan angin, putaran turbin (RPM), tegangan, arus, daya angin, daya turbin, dan daya generator selama lima hari pengujian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa PLTB berhasil dirancang dan direalisasikan menggunakan turbin horizontal lima bilah dengan generator berkapasitas 400 Watt. Kecepatan angin selama pengujian berada pada rentang 0–5,8 m/s, dengan putaran maksimum 647,9 RPM. Pada kecepatan angin tertinggi 5,8 m/s diperoleh daya angin sebesar 155,32 Watt, daya turbin sebesar 46,60 Watt, dan daya generator sebesar 1,504 Watt. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa PLTB yang dirancang mampu mengonversi energi angin menjadi energi listrik dan seluruh sistem dapat berfungsi dengan baik. Namun, daya keluaran belum mencapai kapasitas rancangan 400 Watt karena dipengaruhi oleh fluktuasi kecepatan angin serta rugi-rugi aerodinamika, mekanis, dan listrik. ***** This study aims to design and develop a 400-Watt horizontal-axis Wind Power Plant (PLTB) and to determine its performance based on wind speed, turbine rotational speed, and electrical power output. The research employed an engineering method using the forward engineering model, consisting of the stages of planning, analysis, design, construction, and application. Testing was conducted by measuring wind speed, turbine rotational speed (RPM), voltage, current, wind power, turbine power, and generator power over five days. The results showed that the PLTB was successfully designed and constructed using a five-blade horizontal-axis wind turbine with a 400-Watt-rated generator. During the testing period, wind speed ranged from 0–5.8 m/s, with a maximum rotational speed of 647.9 RPM. At the highest wind speed of 5.8 m/s, the available wind power was 155.32 Watt, turbine power was 46.60 Watt, and generator power was 1.504 Watt. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the developed PLTB is capable of converting wind energy into electrical energy and that the system functioned properly during testing. However, the electrical output did not reach the designed capacity of 400 Watt due to fluctuations in wind speed and aerodynamic, mechanical, and electrical losses in the system.
