Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Interactive Teaching Material Science (ITMS) berbasis STEAM-PjBL yang valid untuk meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains (KPS) dasar siswa kelas V SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan (Research and Development) dengan model 4D yang meliputi tahap define, design, develop, dan disseminate. Produk yang dikembangkan berupa bahan ajar digital interaktif untuk pembelajaran IPA kelas V sekolah dasar pada materi energi alternatif. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui wawancara, observasi, angket validasi ahli, angket respon pengguna, serta tes dan observasi keterampilan proses sains. Validasi produk melibatkan ahli media, ahli materi, dan ahli bahasa. Peningkatan KPS dihitung dengan perhitungan Normalized Gain (N-Gain). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ITMS yang dikembangkan memperoleh persentase validasi sebesar 88,46% dari ahli media, 92,18% dari ahli materi, dan 78,96% dari ahli bahasa, sehingga produk dinyatakan layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran. Respons siswa terhadap penggunaan ITMS memperoleh persentase sebesar 81,01% dengan kategori sangat praktis. Hasil analisis peningkatan keterampilan proses sains menunjukkan nilai N-Gain sebesar 0,51 pada hasil tes dan 0,57 pada aspek observasi, yang keduanya berada pada kategori sedang. Temuan tersebut menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan ITMS berbasis STEAM-PjBL dapat membantu meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dasar siswa melalui pengalaman belajar yang interaktif, kontekstual, kolaboratif, dan berorientasi pada penyelesaian proyek. Dengan demikian, ITMS berbasis STEAM-PjBL yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid, praktis, dan mampu meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dasar siswa kelas V SD. This study employed a research and development (R&D) method using the 4D development model, which consists of four stages: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The developed product was an interactive digital teaching material designed for fifth-grade elementary science learning, focusing on alternative energy. Data were collected through interviews, observations, expert validation questionnaires, user response questionnaires, science process skills tests, and observation sheets. Product validation involved media, material, and language experts. The improvement in students’ science process skills was measured using the normalized gain (N-gain). The results showed that the developed ITMS achieved validation scores of 88.46% from media experts, 92.18% from material experts, and 78.96% from language experts, indicating that the product was valid and suitable for use in learning. Students’ responses to the use of ITMS reached 81.01%, which was categorized as very good. The analysis of the improvement in science process skills yielded an N-gain score of 0.51 based on the test results and 0.57 based on the observation results, both of which were categorized as moderate. These findings indicate that the use of STEAM-PjBL-based ITMS can contribute to improving students’ basic science process skills through interactive, contextual, collaborative, and project-oriented learning experiences. Therefore, the developed STEAM-PjBL-based ITMS was considered valid and practical and demonstrated its potential to improve the basic science process skills of fifth-grade elementary school students.
